LOL,
I paid $50 for the haircut and that's my limit.
You got scammed if that was $50 especially in Texas. Bangs look good on you but those don't look even. I'd be mad and ask someone to fix them.

I seriously thought she cut them herself.

It is a much better look for you.

Not a good day. Went to my great niece's birthday, and laid around at my niece's house all day watching movies; only got up to go eat Mexican food.
Only 0.8miles walked

A friend who is part of a group of 7-8 friends that have all been friends for 20 years has put on a lot of weight over the last couple of years. He's in his early 40s, almost always been moderately overweight, and has sometimes veered into this territory before, but never anywhere near this far. He's a little over 6ft/183cm, and I'd guess closing in on 400lb/181kg, if not already over that. Definitely over 350lb/159kg. All fat, no muscle. I'm worried about him.

I'm not in the area much anymore, but come thru once or twice a year to visit and hang out with everyone. We all got together this weekend and I was surprised to see how far he's gone this time. This guy is an old friend and while I don't see him much these days, he's still a friend and I don't want him to fall over dead in the next few years.

Dude is highly intelligent, and obviously knows he's at an unhealthy weight. About 10 years back when he was heading down a similar path, he went carb-free and managed to get into a very healthy weight for a year, so I know he can reverse things, and so does he. However, he is also a lazy gamer type with a cushy desk job who loves food.

What's the play here?

Do I just stfu since he clearly knows what's happening and it's none of my business?

Do I say something? If so, what? He may be embarrassed but we've known each other long enough that I can speak openly with him. Even if he gets mad at me, that's fine as long as it achieves something productive. I'd rather him be angry with me and healthier than happy with me and dying early.

If I say something, what do I say?
You should absolutely talk to him. A lot of people including yourself are assuming he realizes how bad it is and he is smart and knows what to do. When you get so far gone and overweight your perception of yourself changes and you actually see yourself as just fine and not too fat. I wish someone had said something to me earlier. It was someone here saying that I looked unhealthy in a photo I posted and being embarrassed that woke me up. He needs a wake up call.

Looks like the calories in your diet are still over 50% junk. That's not sustainable, experts recommend 10-20%.

Try to get to 75/25.

Ok, thanks loco.

I over did it on Sunday at the gym. I'm so sore and barley able to walk. I was planning on the gym today to do upper body at least, but my daughter got sick.Ive also only walked 1.7miles today and won't be able to walk tonight either :/

My plan is to lift Tues, Thurs, Sat or Sun and get 3miles/day in of walking. I have only made it to the gym 2 times this month starting last week...ugggh

MLYLT,

Why don't you set some attainable goals? Try it out at least.
09-12-2017 , 09:38 PM
I think the 1800cals, 4sodas, and 3miles per day goals are obtainable. I was also going to the gym 3x/week before and my body looked so much better.

MLYLT,

What's your lifetime record of consecutive logged days under 1800 calories? I didn't realize you were actually going to the gym three times in 4-5 days previously, kudos if that's true.

This should be obvious, but you know the soreness is due to doing exercises that your body is unfamiliar with yes? And 'unfamiliar' can be not doing squatz for 4 weeks too. This goes double for lifts with an eccentric portion (muscles lengthening under load) like squats. A way around it is to not go balls to the wall the first time back/ever, then increase the load.

Either way, it'll be much better the second time - and the lesson learned is certainly not "don't go as hard ever". And btw, being sore is a terrible indicator of the effect of a lifting day. Again, just in case you didn't know.
09-13-2017 , 08:12 AM
The cure for being sore from exercise is more exercise.
09-13-2017 , 08:31 AM
If you're already sore, it's time. The key to avoiding getting sore is doing the same thangs repeatedly.

having FOUR sodas a day should be hard. Try not having any for a few weeks then try drinking three or four. You'll feel sick to your stomach probably.

MLY,

I for one miss you in OOT. For all the crap you got (and gave) you livened up the place. Now the forum is dull and the containment thread is full on unreadable.

"Poor" posting can be interesting or deadly dull. Now they've contained some long-winded self-congratulating guy. Zzzzzzzz.

I the bangs. They bring out your eyes.
09-13-2017 , 03:00 PM
Yeah 2p2 is really stupid sometimes. That guy Larry legend actually had the audacity to warn people to not post MLYLT's steak pics for her since she was contained!!

WTF!!!!! They are steak pics!! Lol. It reminds me of when montecore banned a guy in H&F for calling a fat man fat. Lol.

This is why cops kill people. Power trips.

Woah, that escalated to another galaxy very quickly.
09-13-2017 , 03:24 PM
True. I hate cops. They once snatched 70k from me and I had to pay a lawyer 14k to get it back.

I recently went to Costa Rica and my passport was slightly damaged on the way. Very slightly, nowhere near the information or picture. It was just a 24 hour pit stop along to my destination. They sent me back! Lol. Power trips. But Canadian Customs is the facking worst, it's like dude nobody wants to stay in your facking cold as fack shiethole to collect free healthcare, just let me in and I will be out in two weeks.

I am just needling Montecore but very serious about the Larry legend incident towards MLYLT. What a dickwad, it's a facking steak pic for the love of god.

What can I say; the power went to my head. The proof is in the pudding; just look at my overactive banhammer since.
09-13-2017 , 03:41 PM
I know when I think Montecore, I think, "quick to ban, slow to forgive."

Totally agree, that was the angle I was always taking.

OOT has become very boring imo.
