Grats on the results man, you've come a long way.

Leangains doesn't necessitate low carb though? You're free to do so of course, but can't remember Martin being a ketosis guy.

Personally when doing IF and low cal days (I use maintenance for workout days and 1600 cals on non-workout days), carbs have to be restricted by necessity in order to meet protein and caloric goals. Other than that though, not really a big deal. Unless you want to go the ketosis way, which is fine of course.

Yeah? I don't know he mentioned that carbs should be up on lifting days, while lower with fat higher on non-workout days. I believe I read this. I haven't done all the studying I'm going to do yet on that though. I'll have to get more in depth and really come up with a plan. Either way, I appreciate everything you've helped me with Soul, you my dude.

No, the cycling with lower cals on non-workout days is my own take on it, but a pretty common one. The only thing I care about is hitting cals and protein, other than that I don't care much about the carb/fat distribution. And of course making sure I get some carbs pre-workout.

Working out with my buddy now and teaching him the lifts and such. This will be amazing for my benching because I'm going to teach him to spot, and have a spotter for once. Stay tuned.

Just out of curiousity, do you breathe at the top or bottom of your press? Seems like you could do quite a bit more given your benching skillz. The most I've ever pressed was 140x5x3 at a time when I would probably barely have been able to bench 215x3x3. Do you use your belt on presses?

highest bench for 3x5 i saw was 185. pressing 125 for 3x5 is what i'd expect. it's more likely you should be able to bench more imo.

I can definitely bench more, but I'm nervous about going all out without a spotter. That time is over.

Evo- I don't wear my belt for presses, should I be? And my exhale happens on the press right before I get the bar fully up in the air. Is that the correct way to do it?

I've tried a belt, didn't do much for me. Just try it and see if you like it.

I highly recommend not taking more than max one breath on a press set. This is a habit really. Same with the bench press, where it's even better to hold your breath for the entire set. Breathe at the very top on the press, a very quick breath, nothing more.

Shrug it's not a huge deal, but especially on the bench press, your form is more likely to stay good.

Didn't have my lifting partner, he crashed his car so he couldn't meet me, hopefully he'll have transport soon.

Squat 3x5 280 these were better than last session, focused on my form which made all the difference

Bench 2x3 215 1x3 205. Weaker than last time, hate not having a spotter.

Bench 1x4 215 1x3 215 1x2 215, I had a spotter, so after the last rep of each set I got an assisted one in because I'm bitch made and couldn't do it myself

DL 1x2 295. Form was a lot better than probably ever before. Need to get some videos up though.

Squats 225 1x3, was warming up with my first heavy warmup set and when I finished my elbows hurt so bad that both my arms went numb. It was crazy, and painful, so I didn't squat any more. I've had some painful numbness before, but it was intermittent and not so bad, this was terrible.

Press 3x5 130. A new record. I feel like the only way I was able to do it though is because I didn't squat. And no numbness during or after these.

Chin ups 1x3, and that was the end, after these the painful elbows/numbness was insane, so I just left the gym. It was horrible. Anyone else here experience anything like this before?
