Don't apologize. Own it. It is your choice, you had your reasons to make this choice.

In my experience it is helpful to have clarity for myself why I did eat/drink XYZ. May be it is something for your to explore.... I mean to understand just for yourself, what are your reasons for getting too drunk, on the level deeper than just "it feels good".

I had lunch early then started drinking later, had so many drinks that I was close to caloric limit but had to eat something at the end of the night, a breakfast burrito. Could have eaten way more, but didn't, so that's positive.

Can you drink a hot tea with milk slowly now? I mean I don't know your situation, if you are at work or so. But if you can, try it. It usually calms down hunger feeling.

Is milk necessary in this drink if I can drink plain tea without sugar? I thought caffeine is the main appetite suppressor there.

Do you like any hot drinks with caffeine? Black tea with sugar and lemon? Coffee? Temperature + caffeine + few calories from milk or sugar usually calm down the hunger.

But if you can do it with just will power like you did, better for you.

Caffeine is addictive, though. As one gets used to it, it stops being helpful in small doses.

Don't you think that this needs some kind in depth analysis to avoid it in the future?

I mean..... What was the exact situation? Was it hunger from the previous day? Stress? Habit? What food was it?

That is actually, I think, what for this log is: to understand binges like that and learn to avoid them. You need to look at what exactly pulls you into this. Look deeper than just "it tastes good".

No depth is necessary. What happened is that OP met up with the notorious JohnnyFondue, which was bound to result in overeating.

Another question is why OP and Jon didn't set a caloric limit (e.g. 4K) for that day. I for one am against such cheat days when eating and drinking anything in any volume is allowed. I think cheat days should have strict (albeit higher than usual) consumption limits planned in advance too.

It was all booze related...I had two really great meals with friends yesterday and tons of wine. All of that was great and I don't care about or regret any of it. Drank a bunch of good beer in between that while sweating my hockey team win the Stanley Cup (and winning money in the process). Don't regret that. Then boozed super hard all night and binged on garbage food at the end of the night/early in the morning. Way too drunk ate way too much, and made some other mistakes I'm very not happy with as well. Those are the issues that need to be remedied. No one makes sound decisions in that state, certainly not me. So that needs tweaking obviously.
