Almost forgot, really cool 3.5 hour hike through Fern Canyon yesterday. Waterfalls and such. First time I actually enjoyed hiking really.

Fern Canyon trail in Red Rock outside Vegas. Due to recent rainfall there were a lot of waterfalls, it was pretty cool. I'll try to find some pics absent humans as I don't really want pics of myself here...despite the fact I do have vids in the form check thread.

2180 cals today. Weigh in day in the morning.

January 1, 2016- 229.5 lbs
February 1, 2016- 228 lbs
March 1, 2016- 220.5 lbs
April 1, 2016- 212 lbs
May 1, 2016- 205 lbs

-7 lbs from April 1st.

A little shocked by this. Thought it would be 207 or something...but, I'll take it. It is insane to me to think that I'm this close to under 200 which was my magic number. It's been at least 12+years since I've weighed this amount or less I feel like.

I counted, 10 out of 30 days last month I ate over my calorie amount, so I would like to have less of that this month. Keep up workouts...probably less running unfortunately because I've been getting some juicy shin splints, but I have been enjoying the jogs and don't want to eliminate it completely unless I have to.

Again, appreciate everyone who stops by...really makes it that much easier to keep going.

Are there any sports you love? I hate cardio but play hoops in lieu of a cardio day.

Shin splints aside, maybe you could run practice drills for a sport you enjoy that will get your heart rate up, instead of running.

This is all assuming you hate running like I do and are looking for a way to avoid it.

I love hockey, but it's hard to do it regularly due to scheduling...but really more because of me.

But I don't hate running, I've been enjoying it more and more lately which makes the shin splints that much more frustrating.

I'll be doing more elliptical stuff, while trying to get a run in here and there and see how things go.

I'm going to get boxing equipment as soon as we move (a nightmare in progress) and I have the space.

My son loves it and I'm excited to learn and get cardio.

There is the ancillary benefit of my son feeling confident if he ends up in a fight as well.

Maybe you just need to learn how to f*cking run? I'm far from a runner or knowledgeable on running form, but maybe Google around or ask in the beginner or lc thread if there is anything really stupid you are doing that might get you some cheap gains on preventing shin splints (my 2 min Google when I started doing some running a while back was all about smaller strides, striking under your body and obv anti-heel striking... Not sure how bro science it ask is tho).

Lol Snitch...that was hate filled. Odd thing is I've never really had them before. Might be due to new shoes I bought that I love. Problem is I have ridiculously flat feet. Like the flattest ever, no arch at all. I've googled shin splints as well though, thanks.

I had splints once and it was a change in shoe manufacturer related.

I only wear one manufacturer now and don't worry about it

It's the same manufacturer...different shoe though. I feel like they aren't going to go away until I take enough time away for them to go. But now I want to experiment with the old shoes. Not sexually experiment.
