Anyone have any tips for stirring up appetite?

I have a very sensitive stomach and the stress associated with playing poker tends to make me lose a bit of appetite but I can usually battle with it and force 6 meals a day. But I'm currently in between a move having to live in the same house as a dog that I'm allergic to and I find that really subsides my appetite to the point where I'm really struggling just to get in 5 meals.

Any suggestions? (Already do maybe 1/3gomad..)

Lefort,

there is absolutely no reason to eat 6 times a day - if you prefer fewer, bigger meals that's fine no matter what your goals are.

Other than that, exercise helps of course, and being active in general. Just wanted to point out the 6 times a day thing.

i find liquid calories to be less filling. so like, whenever you eat, drink a cup of choc milk. if you do that 6 times a day, that's 1200 additional calories.

They need to charge more and get some new bars if the first guy in that clip is anything to go by...

Idc if it's noobish or not, I'm just happy Bell's beers are once again available.
Bell's: I'm not as big of an Oberon fan as a lot of Chicagoans, but Hopslam is a solid imperial IPA and several of their other beers are very good imo. Amber used to be available everywhere and is definitely a solid standby. (btw, not noobish to like Bell's, solid imo)

Three Floyd's is excellent, obv. I've never tried Dark Lord though, just not motivated enough I guess.

Two Brothers is more run of the mill but I like it and most of their beers have wide appeal. Hop Juice (another double ipa) is awesome. Their French Country Ale is another solid standby that most everyone enjoys.

Founder's is great, though without standing at a beer case I can't recall which of their beers have been my favorite.

Goose Island has some good ones... Matilda, nom nom. Green Line APA is good, too. Bourbon County Stout is... hefty!

Half Acre and Metropolitan are on the up and up, but haven't had all their offerings, just a few pints when I've been out but I've generally liked what I've tried.

Lefort,

Few things arouse crazy hunger in me like deadlifting heavy

I know I shouldn't cause it's a damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don't situation, but god do I envy you guys who have a hard time eating a lot of food.

If I'm not careful I'll eat anything in sight. I just ate a bunch of bbq'd chicken breasts, shrimp and mashed potates and then my gf handed me a 16oz tub of icecream for desert and I was gonna eat a couple of spoonfulls

Obv I ended up polishing the whole thing off. And I could have eaten more. This was dinner, brekfast and lunch was stir-fried chicken w/cashews + rice and ommelette with pork, veggies and rice today. And a bag of chips for a snack.

Oh, and it's not a lifting day either. When I lift it's worse.

Typing this made me hungry again. No wonder I'm fat.

I've got to the point where I feel guilty after doing something like that.

I think thats a good step towards changing the behaviour.

Right there with you, Wolfram. If I wanted to, I could gain 100lbs in a year, no problem. And I'd like it.

If it makes you feel better, I'm currently in the midst of grinding 700g CTM (That is 700g chicken breast + whatever the sauce is), 100g yoghurt, 150g bread, 1 cup rice. I'm sparing myself liquid cals. Though I might indulge in seconds. Someone Martin smiles on this meal.

So ******ed. HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL LLLLLLLLLLO NFL.
to elaborate a bit the 300 yard sprints are worse than they sound. we had to do these for football conditioning in college as well. it's basically an extended gasser u run 25 yards there and back 6 times (so 300 yards) and u generally have some time cap, then get a 3-5 minute rest then do it again. the first one was never too hard, but the second one u get so much ****ing blood pumped into ur legs/ass from the first one and then running again it's ridiculous. i remember my ass hurting from having 80% of the blood in my body in my ass that i couldn't even sit down all you could do was try and walk around for 15 minutes until it subsided enough to sit down. thankfully i was always skinny, watching the lineman have to do these things always emitted a mix of laughter/pity.

That is incredibly ******ed.

Alesmith in San Diego makes great beer. Their IPA might be my favorite.

I could easily weigh ~350 with minimal effort. I would actually enjoy the whole ride there.

Although I would certainly enjoy the ride, it would def take some effort for me to get there.

Would be pretty sick to jump back on full linear progression and see how far it took you.

anyone in boston want to get drunk with me? please, seriously...
07-30-2010 , 08:50 PM
It's just sad at this point. But I guess, was it ever any way else?

OMG Bruisaaaaar. I'm going to Gypsy bar tonight. Kinda drunk already

How much of a difference do the rep ranges make to your muscular mass? Like if I'm doing 5 reps religiously for my hypothetical training life and another dude is doing more 12 rep ranges and more sets. We both get to the same intermediate level 1RM how much bigger would the 12 rep guy be?

I've no interest whatsoever in changing up things in my training or getting HOOOGEE. It's just that my brain is melting trying to comprehend how i'm not that far away in absolute strength (prob ahead in some lifts) from one of the huge regs at my gym. Teh juice obv
