loco seems to be pretty passionate about me dropping the DL but keep in mind I was not using a belt. This Saturday ill be deadlifting again and will use a belt and film and see what everyone thinks. I am very concerned about my back and going to be very form oriented from now on out. Do not care about how much I lift just cannot get injured again and kill my gains.

Yugo thanks for those vids. Your form seems like it improved a ton. How long did this take?

A belt will do **** all for you if you don't know how to properly deadlift without one first. My advice is figure out form first without a belt before you start using one.

^^^A belt doesn't "fix" bad form.

Oh ok. I won't use one then. I guess I will concentrate on just keeping tight the whole life and make sure I lock out properly.

I don't think you should drop it bro. Just realize that's a very difficult fix you got ahead of you. I haven't dropped it from my training.

I train sumo and PR conventional. Sumo strengthens my lower body and keeps my back in a better position. But I still work on my conventional form and film lots of lighter sets. They have slowly been getting better. Cha is very knowledgeable about the subject but he puts bodybuilding logs on ignore. He pukes at skinny tinybros who do leg extensions to grow their lower body.

They have dates on them. I believe the first one is from 2 years ago and the more recent ones are from earlier this year. Btw, I only recently truly figured out why DL form is so tough for me and why I've struggled so much - one big reason is I kept my shoulder blades back and my arms aren't long enough for that, I need the extra inch or two to hold the bar and keep my shins relatively vertical.

Anyway, using a belt is whatever - if you use it properly it will help the lift and help you keep your core tight. But it won't really protect your back (besides helping keep your core tighter at heavier weights than you could normally lift).

I use one b/c I bought one and so I use it. If I never bought one I wouldn't use it and wouldn't really care.

Keeping tight the whole life is pretty much priority #1 in weightlifting afaik.

Nah, he just doesn't really check out new threads until someone mentions it to him or PMs him or whatever. But, really, Cha is posting about DLs in your log, Snitch's log, my log, SM's log - no real reason to have another log to post about them in lol.

Yugo I do see some "buckling" in those old videos. Albeit a lighter version of it. Those fixed deadlifts look much better. But lol the baby weights. Will see what happens at 90%1RM. Trust me bro, definitely rooting for you and Cha to solve this thing. But look its been years and you have had a grandmaster teaching you and look how hard it's been?

Now imagine out poor hero ExpectedEV fixing that? Not saying its impossible, just be prepared to work really hard at it.

a weightbelt has got to the dumbest invention ever. please never ever use one, they are so bad for you, its literally this... temporarily hiding or covering or ignoring your weakest link, and then pushing your body further out of balance by neglecting the area that needs the most attention, one legged squats and bruce lee V ups are 10000000 better for any human beings goals than anything someone does with a weightbelt... ugh i just ****ing hate to see weightbelts but I used one for fun a few times as a teen lol its just ignorance is all it is, nobody needs one in fact its always the opposite

I do see where loco is coming from, its a totally different story when you are lifting 90% which I would be interested in seeing a video for that. What the heck is a bruce lee v up?

loco - until recently I'd lift with Cha at most once a month and would do a random lift there. So, not really fair to say he's been giving me grandmaster coaching until now.

Lat pulldowns are good. A little cheat there with the angle. But research has shown that a 15 degree cheat angle has higher EMG results than a strict 90 degree angle. Approved. Continue.

I think it's fine to film most exercises. Back when I had a coach, he would find me doing the most ******ed things on the simplest lifts. I was heading straight to snap city if I hadn't sent him a video of my leg press.

I just looked for it. It looks like he deleted the video!!

But if you google "candito HodgeTwins deadlift" the second link is the video.
But he deleted it. Maybe he changed his mind.

Cliffs: deadlift very technical. He agrees with HodgeTwins. Can be dangerous to some lifters.

thanks
always have done that, glad there is nothing wrong with it. agree that we all may have leaks on simple exercises. I'm sure I do.
