Merry Christmas everyone! Josie 2.0 It’s 8pm on Christmas, all over till next year. It’s early but I’m already snuggled in my bed and thought I’d use this bit of time for an update.

Food: I did most of the cooking for both Xmas eve and Xmas day as my mother isn’t well and my sister is, well, my sister.

In the past two days I’ve made (from scratch, natch)

Fried cod
Bacala
Fried broccoli & cauliflower
Scallops wrapped in bacon
Stuffed mushrooms
Fruit tarts
Coconut/choc chip scones
Greek feta quiche
Bacon
Roast beef, spuds, green beans
Gravy
Cheesecake

I only snapped one measly food pic and here it is, the quiche.

Working out went out the window, kinda. I only worked out 3 days this week and 4 days last week and those days weren’t a lot of lifting. A little, bit more cardio.

I want to get back to a program and stick with it. I need to talk to a Renton and get it going now that Xmas is over.

I still can’t do a complete pull up but I’m making my way higher than before.

122lbs this morning. Weight is dropping. I’m worried that I’m losing muscle, yet the fat chick inside feels pleased w the new low number. In fact it might be as low as 121 but I’ll see where I am tomorrow.

I haven’t been eating enough during the day and know I’ve been burning the candles at both ends while being in a calorie and protein deficit.

Sooooo let’s noodle out a rough plan for the week.

Tomorrow (Wednesday)
Work
Mama’s house for a quick visit
Gym: BP, OHP, neg chins, lat pull downs, seated row, hammer curls

Thurs:
Dtr appointment
Work
Dinner
Gym: DL, squats, triceps dips, leg extensions, leg press, planks, burpees

Friday
No work (yay!)
Gym...unsure which activity
Poker in NH

Sat
Aqua fit
upper body lifts

Beg Renton for a new program for 1/1/2019. Please Renton!

Dang, it is now 8:30. It took me half an hour to write that. ^^^

In work and procrastinating a bit before I dive in.

122 lbs this morning.

I woke up this morning thinking that I didn't totally blow it on Christmas but then I remembered all the stuff I ate on Christmas evening, after dinner, when all was quiet.

Crap:
2 shortbread cookies (my god, they were good)
1 big piece chocolate covered toffee
Goldfish crackers
small square of bourbon cake
small slice of plain cheese cake

Eh, I guess that's not too bad, but there's a theme; a sugar theme! With the exception of the goldfish crackers, all the bad stuff was sugar and it started with those shortbread cookies.

Happy Thursday! Below is last night's workout.

Treadmill, 40 minutes, incline 8.0 @ 3.2 mph with 2 minutes of jogging @4.9 mph every now and again.

Bench press
2x6x45 lbs
2x5x50 lbs
1x3x55 lbs - This was hard. Last rep was barely doeable. Grrrr

Overhead Press
2x10x30lbs
2x5x45lbs - also hard. This is with an empty bar. While doing this I saw a guy OHP 165lbs. Holy effing moly.

Dumbell curls
2x12x10lbs ea
2x10x15lbs ea
6x20lbs ea

Lat Pull downs, pec flys, and hanging leg raises.

Yoga stretches and balance poses, 20 min.

Sauna

Ate a Reeses peanut butter tree last night. I had to! Those things go bad if you don't eat them right away, plus it was in the shape of an xmas tree. Holiday stuff is allowed. Plus it would be rude not to eat it. Plus it's better to eat that stuff than to waste the money that was already spent. Somehow that makes it better.

tbf, those Reese's trees have the ideal ratio of chocolate to peanut butter and are the best peanut butter cup product.

YESSSSSSSSSS

They are so incredibly better than a typical Reese's peanut butter cup. Perfect ratio indeed!

Is it heavier on the peanut butter or the chocolate to make it the perfect ratio? I think the ratio in cups is pretty good, but haven't really analyzed it lol.

The chocolate is thinner and there's no variation in it's thickness throughout. Try one while you still can.

It’s a thinner even amount of chocolate and slightly more peanut butter. The result is no hard chocolate edges...yet not necessarily less chocolatey.

They make a version for Valentine’s Day in the shape of a heart. I think they put cocaine in these things, they are so good.

1 hr aqua fit.
Upper & lower body machines (a lot)
Yoga stretches & poses, 20min
1 hr hike outside

Happy New Year’s Eve!

I’m headed into work until 1:30. Should be home by 2:00. Then to the gym. Then for my exciting New Year’s plans. I’m going to the movies, something I never do. Dunno if I’m more excited about seeing the movie or the popcorn.

Sunday workout:
Sauna
Zumba, 60 min
Hiit, 20 min after Zumba = dead
Pec fly
Back fly
Hanging leg raises
Leg extension
Sitting chest press
yoga stretches/poses 15 min
45 min walk

Fresh celery juice...I’ve been having this the past few days and trying to make it a daily habit. Supposed to be good for gut health and all sorts of gastrointestinal stuff.

Real deal or no better than any other juice? Since I don’t drink any juice at all normally, I’m actually enjoying it.

Celery Juice:
6 stalks celery washed & chopped
1/2 apple chopped
1 cup water
1/2 tsp honey

Mix everything in the bullet until smooth. Filter through fine mesh sieve so only juice remains. Add ice and drink.

It was either Keith Richards or Steven Tyler. I figure there's no way Richards' body can make it through another year.

It's so weird that I'm now excited and pumped to see who kicks the bucket next.

Today is Thursday. Ergo, yesterday was Wednesday.

Wednesday: I skipped the gym. Mostly because it was too frigging cold to go back out after I got home.

Instead I told myself some lies. “You’ll do yoga at home, and work on the pull-up bar as well. In fact, you’ll have time to do some cleaning too if you stay home.”

Yeah, none of that happened. Instead I ate dinner, planted myself on my easy chair and trundled off to bed before 10pm.

Weight: 124 lbs

My pain in the butt boss got me the stupidest holiday gift ever then insisted on taking a photo of me holding the gift. Josie 2.0

I cannot believe my hair looks as disheveled as it does but whatev. Messy hair, don’t care.

I just got back from a traumatizing afternoon walk to Dunkin. Instead of posting in the LC thread, Imma post it here.

It seems drug addicts hang around dunkin donuts, in Boston anyway. I was almost at my destination and saw a young man, maybe 24 years old, barely on his feet on the sidewalk.

Very drugged and out of it. Swaying, almost falling repeatedly, with mostly closed eyes.

Also, with his sweatpants down around his knees, with his dick and balls hanging out, though he was wearing a jacket.

So there he is, almost falling and righting himself in a drugged stupor. I considered helping him, then walked right by him, and crossed the street. I then looked back to see if he was still standing and he was, but he was headed for the (busy Boston) street I just crossed.

He got about 1/4 the way across, with his dick hanging out and then stopped, still swaying on his feet. This was a busy section and I was hoping a man would help him out. I waited a minute...actually turned away and starting walking but then I just couldn't. Ugh.

I grabbed him by the arms with both hands and ushered him back to the sidewalk, repeating over and over "That's the street. You have to stay out of the street." He seemed to understand but couldn't really talk.

Then we moved on to "You have to pick up your pants" to which he responded "I know".

So I held him up while he struggled with his pants. Thankfully, I did NOT have to touch the pants at all. And yeah, all this happened by a busy Boston Street. It all took about 5 minutes but seemed like time stood still. People watching us and not one person came to assist.

In the end I left him on the sidewalk, in quite a daze, and I feel really bad about that. I feel like **** in fact, that people live this existence. I swear there's an answer to this problem, I just don't know what it is. Yet.

Josie,

1: Your boss is an idiot, that cup is dumb(it makes no sense), and if that was your sole holiday gift f that clown.

2: Please stop physically helping homeless people. They are often mentally ill and one day you are going to get a knife planted in your chest or your cheek bitten off or some ****. Those other people weren't helping because they are not their brothers keeper. So cut it out, Mama Bear...

Yikes. Most of those people have mental issues. I have no suggestion as to what the solution is.

edit - 27os is right. There was little or no upside to doing what you did. I'm glad you didn't get stabbed or something.

He put a dunkin gift card inside the stupid cup, but yeah I totally agree with you. Blah - he insisted on snapping my pic with the stupid mug that now lives in the bottom of a file cabinet.

OMFG I tried to leave him alone but not when he's in the street with his penis and balls swaying in the wind. If he looked violent I wouldn't have, but he looked sweet and is someone's son.
