“Yeah I am, if you slow roll me.”

Which makes him crazy. He starts ranting, and my buddy reminds me that this guy IS MY FRIEND.

“Be nice to your friend. He gave you most of his money.”

Oh yeah!

My buddy is the voice of reason. I’m lucky, though sometimes it doesn’t feel that way when I’ve had a winning session yet the post mortem is about what I did wrong. Lucky.
Aren't you a woman? Why didn't you confront him in an emasculating way? That way you get to the next hand quicker plus he'll keep trying to play at you.

In regards to comparing yourself to somebody else with weight lifting, personally I think just concentrating on yourself and how you're making improvements is the way to go. However if you absolutely must compare yourself to somebody else try and at least find somebody close to weight etc to make the comparisons otherwise you'll just be consistently disheartened.

Rexx. you’re right. I’m def not looking for anyone to compare myself to. I was volunteering, selling confections at a winter festival in Boston. Doves & Figs was next door selling jams, compotes etc. I bought “Chase the Blues Away”. It reminded me of you and it’s soooo good; blueberry, cranberry & pecans.

In other news I FINALLY went back to the gym today, Sunday. Had a great workout after taking every day off(except Monday) last week.

Surprisingly, I did not get weaker. In fact, the weights went up easily. I’ll post full workout tomorrow. It was a biggie; 2 hours, and it felt good.

Lost at PLO Friday night. Josie 2.0 I got rivered more than my share, but that’s PLO sometimes. I wore my vintage leather jacket that I just bought at Goodwill (an op shop Rexx!). I got soooo many compliments on a second hand jacket from men and women alike. One particular guy commented on it more than once so I told him where it came from. He replied “don’t tell anyone else. That ruins it.”

Whatever you say lil fishy.

Fishy lost all his money...at NL then PLO then NL then back to PLO. Saddest part is that hardly none of it went to me. Josie 2.0

I actually had a craving for sardines tonight. It’s passed tho. Lol

I was so surprised to see I didn't lose any strength after taking a week off from lifting, nor did I gain any weight.

However!

I didn't feel as good phsyically; less energy for sure. I felt so much better after my 2 hour work out, both physically and mentally. I will definitely be working out tonight after I make some turkey burgers.

Tuesday (tomorrow) night my son has a gig about an hour away from me, and obv I'm going, so tomorrow will be an off day. I'm committing to making it my only off day this week.

Also, I stopped videoing my lifts. Will resume this week.

Weight is 127 lbs...back to in a normal range. I'm focusing on protein and saying no to sugar in every state except fruit. It def works. My sis and I visited my mother yesterday.

Mama's advice (unsolicited for sure) is that I need to gain 10 lbs. I just shook my head.

Goooooood morning!

I had an amazing work out last night. Upper body FTW plus cardio on the good ole treadmill. I liiiiiike hauling ass on the treadmill to fast music. I actually ran for a whole song! We're talking 3+ minutes. It felt good but probably something I shouldn't do to my knees, though there were no ill effects today.

Anyway, I didn't post my previous workout, which was lower body...squats and deadlifting, but back to last night's workout.

Bench pressing: The highest weight I've pressed is 55 lbs, but last night I was able to BP 60 lbs. Yay me!

My highest deadlift has been 110 lbs.

Last night after BP I went over to do my OHP and there was the bar, on the floor, with (2) 45lbs plates on it...all set up for a 135lb deadlift...my goal. So I started to remove the plates but then...I wanted to see if I could lift it.

Obv the right way to lift it is to start with a lower weight and work my way up but it was all set up, so why not?

I set in front of it, bend down to grab it and the guy next to me says "Hey, don't hurt yourself, that's a lot of weight!" before I could pull.

I explained that I knew it was a lot of weight but I just wanted to see. He looked at me like I was crazy and watched as I attempted.

I got it barely off the ground and dropped it.

Then with a red face, went on to OHP with a naked bar.

Ahem, I DID lift it off the ground.

Ahem, that's more than my body weight.

Mama likie.

Current status is on the bus in traffic headed to the office for another day of mania. In my bag is cheddar cheese, apple, banana, cubed chicken, deli turkey, plain yogurt, and a salad. Gonna fill my tummy w this shiat so I eat less sugary holiday gifts that are piling up in office. We had 3 deliveries yesterday.

I’m pretty pleased with how my eating is back on track during the hardest time of the year for me.

The 4 principals just gave me the holiday ‘gift’ list. Checks given to employees at the holiday party. They are not considered bonuses but a gift.

Well my boss is pissed at his gift. It’s smaller than last year’s. Mine? I got the same. Josie 2.0 A bunch of people got a reduced bonus, not just him, yet it was like he was mad at me for not being in the same boat.

It escalated when one of the principals came into my office and he saw her.

A: Patty, front and center! (He yelled this to her from his office.)

P: I’m busy Andy.

A: Jesus, Patty can you give me a minute? (Still yelling from his office)

P: I just told you I’m busy Andy.

It declined from there. Escalated to full on screaming and she said in a voice low and full of hatred. “I’ve told you before not to yell at me.”

At this point I got up and walked away; something I used to do when I was little and my parents were fighting. I came back 15 min later and all was quiet.

Did that blow over ok? I asked.

She’s an *******, he replied. “I just wanted to thank her for the holiday gift. She couldn’t give me a minute? I thanked her and she didn’t even acknowledge it or say “you’re welcome”.

He’s such a jerk.

Welp, I never ate that avocado Josie 2.0 and left it in work for the weekend. Grrrr I ate everything else I brought but also had 2 chocolates. They were handmade chocolates and divine so I went for it.

Then got home and made a stir fry w shrimp, snow peas, onion, broccoli, garlic, ginger and....fish sauce. It was soooo good. Then, i went to the gym.

No poker for me. *sad*

After 2 I def could’ve done 1 more but my hands/palms were painful.

I know I need to hit u on what’s app. Holiday time is crazy for me atm. Crazy in work, mom is sick etc. trying hard to not skip gym though...if/when I get through next week.
