It's after midnight and I'm exhausted. Went to the Red Sox game tonight. They were losing 5-0, made a comeback to 5-4 but couldn't make it happen. I'll attach some photos from the game at the end.

I decided my snack at the game would be peanuts (and a Dunkin iced coffee). Worked out fine. Calories are slightly higher and protein is lower today. It happens, especially cuz I didn't eat the ham in my breakfast. In fact its sliminess grossed me out so much it may be a while before I gave ham again. Bleh. Plus my dinner on the go wasn't high enough in protein but fit calorie-wise but that's ok because KID COLIN says so!

How bout some numbers!

Calories 1295
Protein 54g
Fat 60g
Carbs 65g

Though I didn't go to the gym, I did walk over 11,000 steps today!

I'm ****ing dying.

I did the Farmer's Walk today cuz Beeschnuts was doing it. OMFG

I used (2) 25lb plates and did a set of 3 walks. Length of gym twice, 2 times. Then 4 lengths of the gym for my 3rd set. Might have overdone it.

Went to the mall afterwards and my torso is on fire. I keep finding myself hunched over, can barely lift my arms or straighten up. Holy shiat.

50lbs is a little more than 1/3 my body weight. Bees was doing 150 lbs which I assume is about 3/4 his body weight. Holy ****. It's like my entire body is wrecked.

I did this after a very long workout with weights that I'll post in a bit. Mama deserves a puff and dinner.

The bad boys I used for the farmers walk.

Below is today's (Saturday's) work out. '!' means I upped the weights.

Left knee started bothering me midway through work out and is still a bit painful. It might just be a swim and sauna tomorrow though I wanted to do the farmers walk again on a day I wasn't doing weights.

I am seriously in need of groceries, which should hopefully happen tomorrow.

Good job!

No shame in dialing back the lower body work a bit if you're feeling a little gimpy. One thing to consider is that adding loaded movement when your knees are low on cartilage might not be optimal -- if you're going to do it, I'd suggest lightening either the load or distance (or some combination of both) and working up a bit more gradually.

But your WIM is impressive!

good advice from monte above. I would be careful with what exercises you pick with your knee issues. I really only do the farmer walks to help with grip strength as an accessory to my deadlifts. If you like doing them that's fine, just be careful with your knees and make sure you start off with a manageable weight/distance that you work to improve on over time. Also, when you mention your "torso" is on fire, I hope you mean your core/abs were sore and not that you had lower back pain.

Agreed with above. Any lower body loading should start low where it almost doesn't feel like a workout, and slowly increasing load over time. Give your body some time to adjust before going HAM.

Ty Monte, Bees & Aiden, Good advice that I will heed.

Knee isn't that bad today but I'm resting it anyway.

Knee was hurting before the Farmer Walks but I'm sure those didn't help, plus the last walk was a long one. I felt it in my core, abs, shoulders and arms but no back pain. I'll go back to it in a few days and maybe start w shorter walks. I don't think the weight about 1/3 of my body weight was excessive.

Just got to the gym and it's REST DAY. Plan is 30 min easy ride on bike, low resistance for knee, then laps in the pool and a sauna.

Original plan for today was the elliptical. If Malucci can go 60 min on it, then I can work up to that. I think my longest on elliptical has been 30 min but I could bust out more.

As soon as the angry knee goes back to sleep of course.

Sunday, Rest Day, Mother's Day

I ate pretty well today, pretty much what I usually eat...

B: Eggs, meat, fruit
L: chicken, veggies
D: turkey, veggies, cheese

However....I ate something extra today, it being Mother's Day and all, and that would be some warm pretzel and a warm beer dip. Soooo good but eschewed my numbers. I didn't even have that much and measured out my portion.

Calories 1416
Protein 83
Fat 70
Carbs 106

Someone previously mentioned that if my bad day was under 1,500 calories it's not all that bad.

So my son got me 2 gifts for Mother's Day. One item was a Life magazine from April 1942 with a 14 year old Shirley Temple on the cover. It's beautiful and I love it. We got a chuckle over the ads and articles in it. One ad was for PepsiCola and it is pretty much a brag that their soda has so many calories. All that energy! More than a tomato! lol see below.

In other news, I did go grocery shopping and tomorrow's protein rich breakfast, lunch and dinner already planned out. It's a big improvement over how the weekend went and makes it easier to have a successful day. Here's a preview of tomorrow's salad for lunch. The black beans are high in protein and I'll be having it with some turkey breast.

Aaaaaaaaaand here's what I'm NOT eating today. Leftovers from a lunch mtg at work. Yes most of this food will get thrown out. At least the sandwiches will, but better there than in my tummy. I am not a receptacle for unwanted food. WIM

Does that require any willpower on your part? Willpower requires lots of effort, which is why willpower can be exhausted. It seems to me like you've just changed your mindset so that it doesn't take you a lot of effort to eat well/avoid crap, it's just what you do now, which means you don't run low on willpower and give in. Is that true?

OTOH, if someone is relying on willpower to stick to a diet, it becomes much more difficult to maintain and much easier to give in to temptation since we only have a limited supply of pure willpower. People who lose weight and keep it off don't struggle every day to stick to a diet; they just change their perspective and develop habits that don't require willpower to carry on and there isn't much temptation to give into.

No, at this point it does not take will power, I don't think. Re: the sandwiches I just do not eat bread and haven't in over a year....it's not even a second thought and takes zero will power now but it took a lot to get here. I mean I don't even think of bread as something I want at this point.

As for those cookies, they DID look good to me. Yet....I didn't have to try hard to resist. It was like a voice in my head said "Hey free cookies" but then I shut it up. It didn't kill me, and if it took will power, it wasn't a lot. However, prior to this log, though I wasn't eating any bread, pasta, rice, I had been letting treats like sugar and cookies in almost daily. Happy to say I haven't had any in about a month and it's easier now than it was then.

I've had cookies. Probably have had thousands in my life. I know what they taste like, I don't need another one right now. That is my current mindset.

Did all upper body tonight and skipped lower body. Upper body feels...strong! I like pushing myself...extending my limits. Resting knee though. I had a nice 10 laps in the pool after my workout too. Little bummed about my knee but I've been through this before and I know it takes time for inflammation and pain to reduce.

Food...I'm going to attach my actual meals for today, dunno if that's TMI.

Protein 93 grams

Fat 49 grams

Carbs 92 grams

I'm in a baaaaad mood.

I'm in work, I'm behind on some shiat because of other people. I didn't get to eat lunch until about 5 minutes ago, so yeah I'm hangry.

I'm pissed because what this means is I would normally work late to fix other people's **** ups, but I'm not going to. Grrr well maybe I will, maybe I won't. I get that overtime comes with pulling a salary but when it's because of other people's lack of planning it pisses me off.

Plus I already know that I'll be working late tomorrow and then going to work event afterwards. So what does that mean for tomorrow night? It means A.) no gym tomorrow night, B.) Booze. Why? Because booze (free high shelf booze) is always served at these events. I most assuredly will imbibe because free, high-shelf, and booze. C.) Food will be served but I dgaf about so that's a non-issue.

The real issue is that I'll be spending my night working tomorrow night, so it pisses me off that I have to stay late tonight because others don't get deadlines. Also, I haven't had a sip of alcohol since I started this blog and I have a feeling I will be drinking my calories tomorrow night.

So for TONIGHT, I should go home, eat a homemade dinner, and go to the gym or go visit my sister's bf and support her at the hospital, cuz neither of those things will be possible tomorrow night.

And okay, full disclosure, my knee hurts like a mother****er. I guess that doesn't help.

I want to shank someone.
