I watched some BP videos last night; both male and female ones and got a lot of good tips, I think. Apparently you line the bar up with your nipples. Good to know!

I skipped the gym last night.

Going to Mama's for sardines and guilt and then I'm hitting the gym!

Original plan was to be at the gym when it opened this morning at 5am. I went to bed early, the alarm woke me up at 4:30 and then I promptly went back to sleep. Grrr Oh well - it will be a late night instead of an early morning.

Plan is to do EVERYTHING I want to do the exercises that Renton mentioned for the chest, as well as DLs, squats, shoulder stuff, arm stuff, etc so we'll see what I get done.

Holliday is kicking my ass at weights AND football. Also, he's not a horrible person. Just saying. He won my league for the week. Un****ingbelievable. I am determined to win this week so maybe I'll spend more than 1 minute on my picks.

RE: Program....I will eventually get one. I think I want to get my form going on bench pressing...figure out how to really do it, and then get a program. My plan is to email someone about writing a program specifically for me that I would pay for. Someone I don't know but is recommended.

I'm stronger than I was a month ago...I love that.

Strength is a skill.

Could’ve added weight believe it or not! Actually I did a couple reps at 110lbs till I realized I had 5 extra on one side Josie 2.0

Different tonight is I lifted in yoga shoes, which are like nylon socks w flat rubber soles. Josie 2.0 Also wore a squeam. Heavy tight rubber girdle like thing w boning that I figured would support my back.

See below.

Think this is as good as a belt? Felt ok.

Hmmm where was I?

Lat pulldowns 3x5x110lbs! Josie 2.0

Hip adduction 3x115lbsx12

Hip abduction 3x115lbsx12

Seated leg press 3x12x 135lbs

Suspended leg raises 3x15
Haven’t increased these in awhile. Next time

Suspended dips 5, 2x4

Leg extension 3x9x65lbs

Goblet squats 3x20x25lbs
Will increase next time

Biceps curls and other shiat using these as there were no 15lb dumbbells available. Must say I liked it. I used the 30 & 40 lb ones.

Overhead presses w 30lbs

Then took a break to watch BP videos and broke my cherry. I did it! (With an empty bar) but I ****ing did it.

I banged the first rep into the peg and it was wobbly. By the 3rd set it felt right.
Shoulders squeezed. I can def add a little weight but will be careful. Thrilled!

BP w 45lb bar 5, 10, 15

Sardines? Why yes!

No cardio or pool but lemme check my steps. 7,502.

125lbs

Oh I'm sorry. Now I feel bad. I thought that was a joke pic/post about the squeam.

Apologies again. I know nothing about lifting or gym stuff, I've only ever seen those things worn as shapewear and had no idea women wore them to the gym. I hope I haven't offended you.

I think this girdle is more flexible. And it holds together waist and hips. Belt is rigid and the goal is more to hold the abdominal front. Its stabilizing qualities have a lot to do with right breathing.

disclaimer: I have no clue about lifting.

Hmmm Let me explain! It’s not actually a girdle...I mean I’m wearing a T-shirt underneath. I guess it’s not good support for weightlifting. Lol just using what I had, def not trolling just dumb.

I had no idea what u were referring to! Def not offended just didn’t understand. 🤷🏻*♀️

Nice pictures Your core muscles are what you use for lifting support. That girdle thingy does nothing for safety. Neither does a belt. A belt can provide additional support to help get your core tighter so you can lift heavier weight when used properly. Please dont think of it as a safety device.

Thanks Cha! I am def in uncharted waters here. I bought a belt via amazon this morning and it arrives on Friday.

If you have time for one more question - See the picture of those weighted bars that I posted? Can I use those on my shoulders for a squat or should I just hold them and squat?

Those are curling bars. Most people would use those for curls and tricep extensions. I'd recommend sticking with the straight bar. If that bothers your back, try harder to pull your shoulders back and keep tight when the bar is on your back.

Oh good, I feel relieved. Also you're definitely not dumb, it's just learning about something that you don't have much experience with. I have a great deal of respect for you getting out of your comfort zone. I know that's one of my shortfalls. You do look amazing in those pics btw

Rexx hit the nail on the head when she said I’m out of my comfort zone w weightlifting. But it’s cool cuz there’s a big sense of accomplishment when I do something, and I understand why I’m doing what I’m doing.

Yesterday, Wednesday

Finally got back in the pool last night after working out which I love.

Sardines? No, but a small meat/bean snack instead.

Leftover edamame salad & ground beef at 5pm. Then ate dinner after gym around 10 while watching the Red Sox. Of course I fell asleep immediately.

124lbs

I’m getting this belt and that shiat below. It arrives tomorrow.

Oh and I have a buddy at the gym! Kinda Josie 2.0

Lately I keep noticing him working out near me. He's next to me when I'm doing my suspended leg raises and my pull up attempts and he was there when I was back to the bench presses last night.

A very, very, very fit guy - my guess would be zero % body fat. Yes, Loco, I doubt he has 1% body fat. Just a muscley, muscle guy but to the extreme. Not extremely large man, but extreme muscles. His ass looks like he has implants in it.

Anyway, I've just been ignoring him.

After I did the bench presses with the empty bar, I was checking the bar out to confirm its weight. I figured the weight would be on the edge of it and as I was looking he popped over to ask if I wanted to know what it weighed and I did. I guessed 45lbs and I was right!

So instead of being my anti-social self I attempted to be friendly, ugh. Why? Because I'm a whore!

I am whoring myself out. Some people do it for money, some for drugs.

Me? I want to use the deadlift machine apparatus thingy and I think he'd love to help me out if I ask. So yeah, being friendly for just that reason.

Whore!

Tha bar actually weighs 44 pounds. With standard clips on the ends it comes to 45 pounds.

Also I’m not sure “ignore” means what you think it means.
