Happy Wednesday!

I worked out both Monday and Tuesday so yay me!

I'd been doing mostly cardio for the past 8-9 days with a little strength training thrown in. Which is the opposite of what I was doing when I had WIM.

When I had WIM it was strength training like a mofo with a lil cardio. I only weigh maybe 1 lb more than when I was strength training.

However! I see a difference in how my body looks!

My body was looking TIGHT and toned with baggy deflated skin.

Now it looks a little puffier, less definition and less deflated skin.

**** that shiat! I'm not going to whine about the skin anymore, because I LOVED the definition I was getting and even though there was excess skin my core was firm. My body just looked better and that was at the same weight I am now.

Sooooo.....

Last night I went back to lifting heaving things like a mofo. Today it's hard to lift my arms. Sore but in a good way. I wasn't able to lift as heavy as I used to but in a matter of a week or 2 I'll be there.

Workout and diet log to follow. (cuz I have to post them from my phone)

But here's what you need to know from yesterday:

Protein 95g
Fat 61g
Carbs 73g

When I got home from work, my sister was there with a big Harrow's chicken pie, telling me there was plenty for me.

J-Um, no thanks!

C-Have some, it's just chicken!

J-Yeah, I'm going to the gym, I'll eat later but I'm not having chicken pie. It's not just chicken, it's gravy and crust.

C-fine

I know she's trying to be nice, but damn I've told her that I'm cleaning up my carbs....a couple of days ago it was pizza she offered as I was making my tuna. I need to find a nice way to explain to her that I don't want to make these decisions about food I'm not even drawn to.

She saw me eating my dinner when I got home last night and said "Very nice."

Even THAT is pissing me off. I know, I have issues.

****! Gorilla4Sale had a heart attack! I hope 🤞 it was an insignificant one.

I just came home from the gym and made the best turkey chili Josie 2.0 w carrots, cauliflower, onion, garlic, red bell pepper, beans, corn, ground turkey, cilantro and spices. I had it on a bed of raw baby spinach. Really delish. It will also be my lunch for tomorrow. See pic.

Mmmmmm numbers for the day look like this:

Protein 86g
Fat 55g
Carbs 92g

I'll post the riveting food logs in the morning. It must be 4:20 somewhere so it's time for a puff.

This isn't health or fitness related but I just made a big mistake.

Normally I get my eyebrows waxed. I'm Italian and eyebrows for dayz. I decided to try getting them threaded. That's where they pull the hairs out with some strategically placed threads, instead of waxing.

That wasn't the problem. The treading came out pretty good and hurt a little less than waxing.

The problem was this woman offered another service; tinting, where they tint your brows for a more dramatic look, clean lines, etc. She said I wouldn't have to use eyebrow pencil anymore, so I said sure, let's do it.

Dramatic make up is not atypical for me. I am not about subtlety.

However!

When the woman was taking the tint off she said "Wow, you had more hair than I thought. Are you Pakistani? Pakistani are blessed with thick brows."

I told her no, that I was Sicilian and similarly blessed. Then I thought "Cool, the tint will be noticeable." because she'd warned me that the tint adheres only to the hair, not the skin, and if you don't have enough eyebrows the tint may not be noticeable.

And now I look like Groucho Marx.

FML.

Actually considering cutting my fringe like those MLYLT bangs just so they cover my brows.

Holy ****.

That is all.

Didn't eat enough yesterday and skipped the gym. My eyebrows were too big to go through the front door.

And yeah, I get that these uber-big brows are popular now. Lots of people have that look. She told me they look microbladed (read big and unreal) without the cost.

To give you an idea, this is while I was waiting with the tint on.

When she wiped it off it was slightly better.

Seriously might give myself bangs tonight but just don't know if that would make things better or worse.

Tint is semi permanent so I'm gonna have a go at it tonight.

Don’t worry Josie just give everyone that scary death stare and no one will even notice your brows.

Removing "excess" hair, then making the remaining hair darker. I'm glad I'm not a woman and a slave to fashion.

Picture how your face looks now? Put the pics here. It is easier and dealing with few jokes here will give you more confidence in RL.

And.... I mean.... You are old enough to separate You from your looks. Your eye brows don't change anything in You. They are only part of your looks.

And if the tint stays only on the hair..... What is the problem? Whatever she has done you can either reverse it right now or it will disappear itself after a month or two.

lol, good to know! FYI I'd just had a bunch of hair ripped from my face. See the red hue around my brows?

Well if I didn't remove the excess hair I'd have a unibrow, but making the remaining hair darker was not needed and def stupid.

I got them a little lighter by scrubbing them with q-tips dipped in coconut oil. They look a little more normal now. Been at work for an hour and no one has said anything so that's a good sign.

Today is Thursday.

Tuesday night I hopped on the scale at the gym, and I was up FIVE POUNDS.

When I'm not pushing hard to lose weight, the most I'm usually up is 1 lb, rarely 2. WTF

I weighed myself 3 more times to be sure it wasn't an error but nope. Not surprisingly, I stopped logging my food at some point over the weekend, and then Monday I got too caught up in other shiat to resume logging and then Tuesday, boom, somehow I've added a full term baby to my weight.

After working out Tuesday night, I sweated it out in the sauna for 25 minutes.

Last night I weighed myself with the same scale and am up a mere 3.5 lbs. (OMFG)

And no it's not ****ing muscle.

Spoiler:
Could be the excessive eyebrow weight tho.

Small females have it the worst when it comes to weight loss/control. You just have a slimmer margin of error to make mistakes, and then mistakes cost you more when they happen.

Maybe look into streamlining your food logging routine so that it's something that you could more likely stick to long term. I don't use MFP, just an excel spreadsheet that I made that I copy down infinitely. I rarely have to look up calories for anything because it's almost always some food I ate in the past and I can just copy it down and apply an adjustment factor if I had 80% as much or 50% more or whatever. I think this is faster than MFP? I feel like this is a method I could use forever; it's never so tedious as to not be worth what I get from doing it. That's the key, I think.

Yes, there's a small margin for error and apparently small things add up. Logging on MFP keeps me on track and I know, even though yeah, I know what portion sizes should be and what nutrition is for the same shiat I eat on the reg. I dunno I may try the spreadsheet thing, tho it's not like mfp takes a lot of time.

ty for the input.

atm up only 3 lbs, so going in the right direction.

Though honestly I feel like i'm just floundering - doing a little of this and that at the gym. I just need an effing program/guideline to follow. That would be a big step in the right direction.

Thought about it? Yep, since the 5 lb wake up call though certainly before that as well.

I think I need it.

It seemed like you weren't really able to take advantage of your meeting with him because it was around the same time that you started focusing on supporting your sister, and as a result you weren't able to go to the gym that much and lost some of the momentum you'd been building for months.

It's also really positive that you're using the 5 (or 3) lb gain as a wake-up call rather than just getting discouraged and letting things slide like so many people do once they lose weight and put some back on.

Well hi!

I know...I suck at posting regularly. I typically only post at work and I've just been so dang busy lately. Gonna really try to get make posting a priority. You know, like working out!

Yes, I've been working out. Every day! I do have a sore ass at the moment, but that's because I'm doing a squatting challenge that my friend Kim is doing. You know, in solidarity. Speaking of what I've been doing, let me give you more details.

So for the past week Ive been working out every day but I've changed it up a bit. Keep in mind my end game is to still lift heavy, but I digress. What I've been doing lately is

Planks every day - 90-120 seconds
Squats every day - with a 10 lb plate (my own little tweak to this squat challenge. The challenge is a 30 day challenge, it starts with 50 squats and by the end it's maybe 250. I dunno, but I do know my ass and thighs are sore.
Farmers walks every day
Inch worm every day
Camel pose every day
Warrior poses every day
suspended leg raises every day
Other yoga poses like downward and upward dog, tree, forward fold, etc.

When I finish all that shiat I then do some cardio. The result is my entire body is sore, which is good. In the end I'll go back to lifting weights but I know doing these excercises and using my body weight as resistance feels like weight lifting did.

Hmm, here's what else is going on...

I'm entirely off sugar and grains, for now anyway.

I'm on a huge heater in poker. Here's hoping it continues this Friday night.

I stopped drinking Dunkin Coffee! - I flipped out on them, which is partially what prompted this.

I had another bad experience with biatches in the locker room at the gym. Effing thieving biatches to be exact.

Still making the gingerbread house for the competition. We decided to do the First Church of Christ Scientist, Boston. It's a huge complicated church but we're doing a restoration project for them at the moment so we decided to do a client project. Again.

Hmmm those are the highlights anyway.

I'm baaaaaaaaack!

Camel's one of my favorite poses! I can only come out of it unilaterally though, or I can tweak something in my back. You?
