Alright, played some ball today. Was fun. I played somewhat ok, shot really well from behind the arc. Good exercise, burned 800 calories in right about 60 minutes. Still outta shape tho.

Also, I'm starting a new diet regimen. I'm gonna call it 'The 6 month Protein Blitz'

Basically I'm just gonna eat +300g protein everyday Monday-Saturday (Sunday will be an off day but still reasonable protein intake). All through Fall and Winter then fat.cut once spring hits. I'm gonna try to stay at maintenance calories so I don't put on any weight, though a few pounds wouldn't bother me, esp if Im stronger.

I'm working on a GTG push ups and I hope to really get good at them and get my upper body stronger.

I'm also gonna push a little harder in the danger zone, ldo.

That's a lot of protein. How did you arrive at this number?

buffalo wings aren't that good. there. I said it.

lol JF on that diet by the way. You won't last 2 weeks. and there's no need to.

1.5gx BW gets me almost to 300 so I round up for a nice even number.

Meh, I can totally get someone not liking buffalo wings. Especially if they're just spicy to be annoying. They aren't my favorite thing by any means. A once in a while type thing.

And I might not last 2 weeks, but I'm gonna try and go 6 months. It's kinda tough to hit 300 without going over my calories so I'll figure out away.

Consider me a guinea pig for the next 6 months,

And then you all can suck it.

Or I can, who knows.

300g protein!? What is the point of that...?
JonFon Starts Another Program Quote

Well cooked and sauced wings are amazing, but most places **** up at least one of those parts most of the time.

Not to just pile on with everybody else, but what are your actual goals in terms of fitness and aesthetics?

I went on this crazy protein binge once and set PRs pretty quickly so maybe I'll take that route.

Another way to look at it:

If I try and get 300g protein its pretty f tough to eat any more than that so it'll help me be more responsible on my diet.

Recomp incoming...

True true. Anyway, We'll see how it turns out.

I have an experiment I wanna try for NFL wagering. I just bet:

$165 on Cleveland +4.5 @ Minnesota (-110)

and

$165 on Dallas -4 vs St. Louis (-110)

I just feel like these lines are gonna move so I'm grabbing them now.

Welp, CLE already moved half point against me. Weak.

I squatted today. I did:

265 for 5 sets of 5 reps

Felt really, really heavy. Now my head hurts pretty bad (I'm sure I'm dehydrated) and my stomach hurts pretty bad (all those squat on a stomach full of protein and supplements).

Hopefully it passes soon I don't feel so hot.

But other than that

What is the experiment if you don't mind me asking. Dallas line has moved to 3.5, but that is probably not what you were planning on. Also, is this 5dimes. I wonder why you are betting -110 lines?

Hmmm, I can't find Dal -3.5 at the normal places. Anyway, I'm just seeing if I can beat the line movement by betting a full week in advance. Obv gotta pay -110 to do that. Otherwise I can flip a coin at -105 when the line is a lot sharper.

Like, when I saw the line for tonights game, my immediate instinct was +7 is free money for Pitt. I just hate the steelers so I didn't take it.

A few times if I went with my gut I would beat the line movement. But then again, the 2 games that I bet big this weekend (and beat the line) I lost so w/e

I doubt NFL lines move enough to justify paying double vig by betting early in week, especially taking into account you are going to be wrong sometimes and paying high vig for a bad line. I am skeptical college lines move enough either, but they move more than NFL lines.

I bet with a local and he had Dallas -3.5 -105 earlier in day, and it is -4 +100 now. I checked 5dimes and it is -4 -110. FWIW I think close to gametime Dallas line will be 3 or 3.5. Also, in that 4.5 zone for Browns, I am very certain it will not move enough to justify double vig, as jumping 4.5 to 5 or 5.5 isn't crossing any key numbers.

Shoulda snapped it up at -3.5

I will say tho:

I printed out all the game for week 1 on a wednesday because I pick all the games vs some friends. We didn't fill them out until saturday, and I mostly just took the lines that I was getting better than the actual current one and I smashed all 3 guys I picked against.

Are your friends charging you vig? Either way, betting with vig against a book versus hustling your friends with old lines (and possibly no vig) are 2 very different things.

I thought you were doing the former.

Also, FWIW I still enjoy sportsbetting, but I am done trying to "beat the books." I think the time of being able to do that has come and gone, especially for guys like me and you that aren't programmers and don't have the time to just sit in front of our computers 10 hours a day looking for +EV spots.

I just wait till the vig is -105 and find bets I like and bet them (although I will wait if I think a line might move in my favor). i actually don't see anything I really like in Dallas game, although if I had to bet I would probably take O47. I think both defenses are exploitable to big pass plays, and either team falling behind has the ability to air it out and try to come back.

Yeah true, I'm def just doing it recreationally, but winning helps.

I usually stay away from totals but I'm 3/3 this year (Over on both Denver games and the under in the NE/NYJ game) so I might pay more attention to those.

I also was on Sea last night because I just thought the 49ers were going to have no way to run any plays in that loud stadium.

I like Cin -6.5 tonight but only because I like the team and hate the stillers.

yeah, I already made a bet on Den/Oak O49 for next week. At least until the weather turns or the books make the total ridiculously high (like 60+) I really think going over with Den games is +EV.

I watched Giants game, and everything that could go wrong in respect to scoring did in the first half, and the game still went over with a normal (for Denver at least) 2nd half.

I exercised today. I do my reviews so going out to the garage and pounding out a few sets doesn't cut it for burning calories. So I did:

Bench: 135 for 5 sets of 10 reps

Pretty meh. My heart wasn't in it, but I got through it.

Then I went and played basketball for a while and when I was done with that I walked for a few miles until I had burned about 1100 calories (took over 2 hours when all was said and done so not a great pace).

So now I should be able to eat all this sweet garbage during my reviews and hit my 300g protein mark.

Today I:

Powercleaners: 135 for 30 singles

Set my stopwatch and did one every 30 seconds.

Then I walk/ran/sprinted for 4.8 miles in 1 hour.

I started off my walking 40 paces, jogging 30 paces, sprinting 20, jogging 30, rinse and repeat.

Around mile 3 my knee started hurting so I walked the rest of the way back. I hope I didn't eff it up again.

I burned 970 calories.

Well I shipped both bets I made a week out. One seemed super easy, the other was a major lol to win.

Today I:

Squat 270 for 5 sets of 5 reps

Felt heavy but I did it:

Deadlift 270 for 10 singles

My back wasn't stoked but w/e, deal with it, back

Then I went and played basketball by myself which really ended up just being a walk/jog/sprint lay up drill mixed with push ups.

It took me 97 minutes to burn 1000 calories
