Well I had a series of unexpected events come along and de-rail my WIM a bit but I'm back with a vengeance today. I was mostly in compliance with everything I signed up for but I bought out of the bets and set up some new ones.

Basically I have a big frisbee tournament in about 6 weeks and I'd like to be right about 169.9 BW and a nice lean machine.

I'm going to focus on doing a lot more form check stuff with my lifts because as much as I want to get stronger, staying healthy is my #1 goal.

Here is what I lifted today:

Both squats: Need to focus on knees out cue.

Bench and deads both look solid from those angles though I'm going to guess you're pushing the bar a bit to straight off your chest, where you should try getting it going back towards your face a bit sooner. You could get tighter on the bench too, but it doesnt look like you are going for a PL high arch bench anyway.

I ventured out into the gym today. I wandered out there sporadically over the last few weeks but literally accomplished nothing.

Today was a try and slowly ease back into day.

Yuck what a week. Cruising right along and then on Wednesday it went from “Wow there’s a lot of ash flying around, that fire must be close” to Thursday and 30k people being evacuated. So the last few days were spent packing up stuff and watering our property like crazy trying to get it as fire resistant as possible in case the fire made it. Basically we live in the zone next to the most recent to get evacuated so we’ve been in limbo on standby.

So needless to say full compliance on diet/exercise hasn’t been my top priority. Even tho the fire is getting bigger, I dunno like 80K+ acres, it doesn’t seem to be getting closer. So I worked in a lift today, just got the basics.

Alright back after it. Looks like the fire is far enough away now that we're gonna be safe.

Got a decent workout in today. Kind of took my time and cleaned up the backyard and worked on my disc golf form. So many bad habits to unlearn.

Anyway, continuing the SS-ish template, today looked like:

I wish. Not many sanctioned events within a couple hours drive. Just gonna keep grinding league on Wednesdays. Even with the missed weeks before I found out about the league, I still have a chance to finish close to 1st in points for the summer if I can put together a good few more showings.

Got out and lifted today. Pretty solid session:

Took me about 90 minutes because I was mixing in lot of disc golf training.

It still amazes me how far I throw with such terrible form. I firmly believe that if I can get this figured out I'll be hitting 500'

I think it’s important to close each log update with something like that. It keeps from whining, complaining or being generally negative. It’s hard to rant about something trivial and then say ‘life is good.’

Well I forgot to update my last workout, dang it. I lifted today, here’s what I did

I’m feeling a lot better, mentally and physically. Although I’m well in compliance with my diet, this round of calorie counting is super flexible and I think it’s really helping.

I think I've got tendonitis in my right arm. Right now it's not bad but it when I've woke up the last few days it has hurt pretty bad and at one point I woke up in the middle of the night it was so bad I couldn't straighten my arm. Just keep working it out and it seems ok once I get it loosened up.

Got out and finished my lifts, just the basics today to preserve my arm.

The squat and DL decent milestones. I look at those 2 lifts as the minimum I need to be doing to at least maintain my goals. My bench will be there in a couple weeks, being able to do BW is good.

Having said that my form felt a little suspect on my squats so I'll be doing a reset to get it back and work back up stronger. DL felt fine tho, so I'll keep pushing that.

Missed protein one day last week (I think, didn't track it very well going out to eat) and outright lost track of my calories mid week. Then I did so much yard work on friday I thought I got all my steps but I didn't so I got another fine. Oh well.

Back after it today.

Form reset on squats, form video incoming. Bench felt good, just gonna keep going up 2.5 pounds. My HCs actually felt the easiest so far. Just focusing on pulling the bar in a straight line. I can tell my third pull (extension) is week but I'll be force to get better at that when the weight goes up.
