ART
TheraLase - cold laser therapy
wobble seat
standard adjustment
taped up with kinesio tape

Getting down to the wire. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little worried still. Pretty big pain, but i've convinced myself that it's from the ART. Has to be, right?

Tape, ibuprofen, codeine on game day imo.

If you like Mag Mobility, I recommend getting Assess and Correct from the same guys. It's just way more complete and professional, and now that I have A&C, it feels like MM is just a list of exercises put in a random order on a DVD with little to no explanation.

lol. I can guarantee you after the game, assuming I can still walk, there will be two or three Soma's ingested, followed by a couple beers.

Thanks, I will check it out for sure. Anything to get me moving or working on mobility/flexibility/stretching/etc.. is a monster step in the right direction. I love training heavy, but I hate doing the little bs like that, even though I know I should be doing it.

We decided against the ART today, as I'm feeling like I was pretty beat up from that and an extra day of rest/healing would probably do me better. Talked wit the doc about how far to push it while competing this weekend..."Well, it's already torn, so you can just tear it worse". Great.

I really need to get back in the gym too, this break has been long enough.

Oh, had my bodyfat checked (9 point caliper) and was at 19.07%, which gives me about 242-244 lbs of LBM. With my off season weight gain, that's about exactly where I figured I'd be, as when I competed at like 260-275 I was a couple % lower.

5/29/10 Alma Highland Festival - Alma, MI

Open Stone (21lbs) - 42'7", pass, pass (1st)
56 WFD - 40'6", pass, pass (2nd)
28 WFD - 71', 78'4", pass (3rd)
22 Hammer - pass, pass, pass (6th)
Caber - light stick - 12:00 (4th)
25 Sheaf - 21' (2nd)
56 WOB - 16'6" (2nd)

Overall - 2nd

Pretty happy considering my injury, which caused me to pass the majority of my throws to avoid further injury.

The hammer was a no go, I went to warm up and the stretch/pull on my oblique was way too much. I envisioned a much nastier tear than I already have and skipped the event. The USA v. Canada competition is next week, and the last thing I wanted to do was to have to pull out of that cause I wasn't smart enough to realize how injured I already am.

Sheaf and caber were probably the most painful, and I even passed my last two sheaf throws as well. I was going to pass the event, but the points were so close that I thought I needed to at least attempt it.

Doc appointments are already scheduled for Tues, Wed, Thurs of next week. Heal up one time!

i want to make a joke about Alma being in the boonies, but let's be serious. It's better than going to Flint, Saginaw, or Mt. Pleasant.

nice job.

G4S,

I know it's an amateur thing, but if you're ever out in Vegas for the Highland Games let me know and I'll buy beer and cottage pie for the day.

Also, when I googled "Soma's" it brought up a women's lingerie site. So, when you said "I'll be ingest Soma's"...well, good for you buddy

This is a great thread - I just opened it for the first time today & read the whole thing.

Congrats on 2nd with the injury!

Good luck with healing up in time for the next event!

I'll throw in my endorsement for Assess & Correct as well. Cressey & Robertson are great. I also own Inside Out & Magnificent Mobility. A & C is way beyond the others.

Just now....

Hamburger Helper - entire box, 28 minutes.

I'm very close to throwing up, although I'm quite sure that's a PR.

I love shoveling Hamburger Helper down. What flavor? I personally love the Four Cheese Lasagna.

Oh, I almost forgot. If you haven't tried it, make it with sausage rather than beef. And throw some onions, celery, and carrots in the mix. Goddamn it is good.

Does this include the complete cooking time, because if not (and even if so), this is the one PR of yours that I can crush

Also, I was a big fan of the Pizza Pasta before it got discontinued.

No prep time included, as it was made the day before an consumed at work. I'm much more an eat all day person, as opposed to a binge eating person. To be fair though, I did eat about 30oz's of Ribeye and mashed taters 2 hours before
