What sort of dinner is that?! It's on a small plate! I suspect that all the time spent on H&F has rotted Gorilla's brain and now he's trying to get ripped or something.

I haven't logged cause I haven't really done ****. Here it is anyway:

9/11/10 Columbus Scottish Festival, Columbus, IN

Well, we threw Open Stone, 56 wfd, 28 wfd, heavy hammer, caber, sheaf and 56 wob.

My oblique is still not good, I passed on the hammer again. sigh.

There were only two Pros, so instead of trying to kill each other we just had a good time all day, throwing stuff with goofy techniques like a one spin, two spin with the stone, three spins, crow hops, etc... I even threw one 28 and announced with the mic in my left hand and threw with my right. Not surprisingly, it didn't go very far, like 68' i think, lol.

I announced the majority of the day, and we threw out a bunch of t-shirts to the crowd. We also did an interview with the local paper and a kids demo.

More importantly that all that, we had a potato sack race....

I won.

Ship it.

9/13/10

Also did some ART on my shoulder which has been bothering me. Me and the doc on the gym floor, him doing some ART mojo while im pressing weights.

I have less than one week to be 100% for Celtic (National Championship). I'm not sure that I'll make it....sigh.

Well, I'm pretty sure there is still no way I can throw hammers. So the question is do I go to Celtic, pass the hammers, and get last place?

9/20/10

Squats
Ext/Curls
Shoulder prehab/rehab
Stretching to test the oblique

Squats were light, nothing over 315. Just really wanting to see how my oblique reacts. Doesn't seem like any improvement, still not sure what to do about this weekend.

Couldn't find it in the thread so I googled wobble-seat and I'm glad it wasn't what I thought it might be.

Can you talk more about it? What you actually do with it, time, acute vs chronic effects etc.

haha

I use it solely when I go to the doc to 'warm-up' for lack of a better term. I spend about 10 minutes on it just wobbling around and stretching in every direction. The idea is to get some blood flow to the discs.

Nice. Do you do any form of inversion (inversion table, boots, etc)?

Not typically, but I do like the inversion table when I'm around one. A couple years back the gym I went to had one, and we did it with regularity. Other than feeling good while hanging upside down and stretching, I'm not sure it did much for me personally. I know some people swear by it though.

I have an inversion table. I used it for a few months while I was having low back issues and it helps, not a lot, but some.

this doesnt surprise me, your home gym looks like it has a secret passage to a helipad, it has everything else, so why not.

I think so, unlikely someone would come up with lathe without reading the epic thread of woodcutting in the front room.

My favourite part, the couple of times I used an inversion table, was the calm headrush.

My friend has inversion boots- these are boots that you can lock onto your ankles and they have metal hooks. It's pretty funny when he just hangs upside down like a bat from smith machines in commercial gyms and freaks people out.
