Once you hit your target weight, are you planning to do anything differently to the previous time? Otherwise one can easily see a scenario where the weight goes back on. (I've only ever done one diet - I kept logging afterwards, and the weight has stayed off. It's only been about 15 months, but hopefully I can maintain it.)

I'm not looking that far down the line yet.

I mean, my plan is already to not eat truck stop food 3 times per day. Not sure if logging at this level of detail will be necessary if I can get into a set routine.

Were you as active when you gained the weight prior to your diet? I find it fairly hard to believe that you'd put on weight at less than 3k kcal per day with your current activity level.

I was less active before. I made the mistake of believing some of the more egregious aspects of Rippetoe's more general health advice, whereas the man is in fact the embodiment of Dunning-Kruger. (Specifically, I believed that calorific surpluses were fine if one lifted three days a week; and cardio is not that important if one lifts three days a week.)

Come on. Being able to climb a few flights of stairs without getting winded or comfortably taking a long hike are unacceptable goals. Raw strength is all that matters

Mostly because parking a vehicle over 70' long at a strip mall is impossible and not particularly legal. I pretty much have to park at rest areas on highways or truck stops.

I'm also, unfortunately, back to the point where I can do damn near anything and gain strength. Playing with my dumbells and exercise bands and doing bodyweight stuff will be enough for a while.

It isn't that big of a deal. I have to walk about 3 steps to get to the exercise equipment that I do have access to.
