OTR truck driver. I do take cat naps (which don't get tracked) as needed weeks when I have a weird schedule.

If anyone wants to lose weight fast, and most importantly, feel great with a clear and focused mind, the best kept secret of our time with regards to health is the Carnivore diet. It's cured many people from things like diabetes, arthritis, inflammation, and of course weight loss.

It's not a "diet", but a WOE (way of eating). You eat only animal products - meat, chicken, eggs and fish and nothing else. You drink only water, coffee, tea or mineral water with no added sugar, artificial sweeteners or chemicals. You can have cream in your coffee. Diary is also acceptable such as hard cheese but since some people have negative reactions to dairy it's just better to cut it out in the beginning. You will feel much better physically after only a week on this WOE, and you will never feel hungry. There's a FB group called "Carnivore diet for beginners" with over 80K members and tons and tons of testimonials and posts saying how much better everyone feels, who's diabetes got cured (off meds), etc. The weight loss is good too of course. It also helps with sleep as well as emotional or psychological issues (depression, anxiety, etc.).

We've been told since we were young that we need to eat from all these different food groups in order to be healthy but it was all wrong. They also said we need to eat 3 meals a day but eating one meal a day (called intermittent fasting) is actually better for the body. I've been on pure carnivore for over 90 days eating one meal/day and it's amazing. I will never go back to the standard american diet again. Our bodies were designed to eat meat like the cavemen did, not grains and sugar. That's the achilles heel of the human race.

Brian, since you drive OTR, I'm sure you're heard of Kevin Rutherford (road dog ch. 146 mon thru fri 11-2 eastern); on Wed is his health show and carnivore is all he talks about. Truckers from all over call in with incredible testimonials of how great they're doing, how much weight they've lost (some drivers call in that lost over 100 pounds) and they also talk about options for eating on the road and bringing your own foods, etc. I found the show when I was driving down to MDL during covid, since they were the only room open at the time. If anyone is serious about losing weight and most importantly being healthy, I can assure you if you try this WOE you're life will be changed for sure.

I mean sure, big calorie deficit trumps almost everything for a fattie.

But the increase in LDL cholesterol is enough that it is concerning, to say the least.

This is totally false. Before and after lab tests actually show lower cholesterol, lower A1C, lower blood sugar, lower information, blood pressure, and more. And there is no calorie deficit.

Kevin is an idiot in some things. The evidence in favor of the carnivore diet is on par with the evidence that eating an egg will cause you to die from a heart attack.

It's not only about losing weight. You will be healthier and your energy and endurance will skyrocket. I wouldn't be saying this if I haven't tried it myself. I didn't do it for weight loss, yes there are other ways to lose weight that all work. My issues melted away withing the first week, and I felt better than I did in a long time. After 90 days on it I'm still feeling better all the time.

The weight loss is not the only reason people are choosing this lifestyle. The standard american diet which consists of an over abundance of carbs, sugar, white flour and grains is the reason so many people are feeling sick, sluggish, tired, unmotivated, and are supporting big pharma by being on meds they don't need to be on if they only ate correctly.

You only need about a pound a day or less, and the seed oils are bad fats, we eat good fats from bacon, steak, and butter, and who knows why the trucker went on disability and whether it's connected or not to the diet. It was connected to him developing congestive heart failure.

Either it was diet related or due to him buying some expensive magic exercise equipment that is popular with truckers who are long on credulousness. Probably not the exercise equipment though.
