Elevated Deadlifts

1x5 95
1x5 135
1x5 185
2x4 225
3x4 255

Still just focused on form. Not trying to put too much on the bar yet.

Also did

1 arm KB rows
Shoulder press (DB)
Few shoulder bro lifts

Followed that up with 30 mins on the bike at probably 7.5/10 effort

Finished it all up with ~15 mins stretching. Mostly hamstrings, glutes, etc where I know I’m very inflexible

Well done on spending some time stretching at the end - I tell myself to do it, plan it, then get to the end of my session and find something I need to do somewhere else

Didn’t work out today. Long week. But I did take a 2.5 mile with the wife and dogs.

Did 30 min ride this morning. Then went to the hitting loft. What I’m starting to notice is that my club head speed is not going up materially. BUT I’m hitting more balls solidly at higher swing speeds. Not sure there is enough evidence to know for sure but that seems to be the trend.

Best pre SSP workout

And best post SSP workout

Although I can’t figure out a way to aggregate the key statistics, I did figure out a way to average total distance for a sampling of drives. So I will be keeping track of that since ultimately that is what this is all about.

Pre SSP 280 yds
Post SSP 292 yds

Lazy day today. Did do 30 mins of stretching/mobility work this morning. Need to do more of that.

Then did chest workout as follows:

Bench Press

1x8 95
2x6 135
1x6 165
1x6 185
1x5 205
3x4 215

Felt a little stronger lifting than I did last week. Still not as strong but that may just be attributable to weight loss. Not sure.

Leg day today

Back squats

1x6 95
1x6 135
1x6 165
1x5 185
1x5 205
1x4 225
1x3 245

This felt utterly pathetic and weak so I just backed off and did some reps.

3x6 225

Also did some step ups with 20lb DB

Polished off with 20-ish mins of stretching/mobility mostly hips, glutes and legs

I watched this on my phone initially and just went back now and rewatched as I am trying to put together a stretching/mobility plan. I think I am slightly APT so I will work from that as a starting point.

Thanks again for posting.

One big bomb today
Not particularly well struck but big club head speed increase. I’ve been reading on forums that this system over measures the speed slightly as compared to Track Man but I’m using the same sim so the differential is consistent.

Other than this swing I’m not seeing a ton more swing speed but I’m hitting more balls pretty consistently solid in the 113-114 range. So less dispersion in sub par shots essentially.

Pleased with the progress

Tour pro?

My stats would be slightly below average on tour. For reference, here are Rorys numbers

Bryson’s numbers even better.

DJs numbers would be comparable but he comes home to this

She might be too tall for you tho

Just did 30 mins of cardio today and went on a2-ish mile walk with the wife and pups.

Was pretty good diet wise last 2 days. Thanksgiving has typically been a holiday where I fall off the wagon pretty hard but not really this year.

Walked 2 miles with wife and the pups. Here is Freddie who is always up for a walk

Followed that up with some mobility work for about 20 mins.

Then did some RDLs. Does anyone have an opinion on RDLs vs standard Deads??

1x6 135
1x5 165
1x5 185
1x5 205
1x4 225
3x4 245

After all that up to the club for some time in the hitting loft. Seeing same as last time... no real jump in distances yet but a tighter dispersion seems to be developing even amongst the longer shots.

Today’s best:

All those numbers look pretty spot on with the exception of launch angle. If I could get that down to like 13-14 deg that drive likely goes ~10-12 yds farther.

Average drives before and after Super Speed Training:

Before: 282 yds (0 over 300)
After: 293 yds (6 or 7 over 300)

I like SLDLs because they're more specific than RDLs. The difference is that you pull from the floor from a dead stop and do a controlled drop just like a regular DL, instead of starting from the top and taking advantage of the stretch. They're also arguably safer for your back since you start from the disadvantaged position. You can only SLDL what you can budge off the floor, whereas you can accidently exceed your max with RDL and snap your **** up.

RDLs target your hamstrings a little more than standard DL.
Can be useful to teach people how to hip hinge.

They're typically an accessory movement and shouldn't really be done for high intensity loads like a 1rm.

With a bar or DB/KB generally? Seems the bar would be awkward.

I ask because I just don’t have the mobility to get my back flat doing full deads thus I’ve been doing raised Deads or RDLs.

Hamstring stretch/development is definitely a positive for me ATM

I didn't mean that you'd accidently RDL over a 1RM. I meant that in the course of a set of 10 form could deteriorate during the last couple of reps. In other words you could accidentally exceed what you're capable of doing cleanly for 10.

Bar. Building mobility for the deadlift is usually a matter of strength and technique, not flexibility. There's probably a load that's light enough for you to stiff leg with a flat back. It just may be a 45lb bar with 10lb bumpers. RDLs aren't the greatest way to develop that mobility because they're just going to focus on getting you stronger at the top part of the DL range of motion.

Form can deteriorate on any exercise.
