Major Ass DOMS,much worse than last week. Maybe it was the lunges, maybe it was my new conv. DL form.

The scale in my gym has disappeared, no one knows where it is. But I think the bulk is working, my abs are disappearing again.

OHP was awful again today. I've made no progress in 7 weeks with it. However today was especially rough, as normally I take a day off after squats, but I'm trying to keep my gym time between Monday and Friday.

I took a weekend trip to the Caribbean. I didn't eat as many calories as I should have (or, very rare for me-- even drink them), but it was totally worth it. I moved OHP today since I was coming straight from the airport after two days of fun. Anyways I felt pretty good. Worst thing was the sunburn--on the beach a lady I was with told me my back looked like an uncooked chicken. :-(

--I have thought that with the switch to sumo, I'd like to narrow my squat stance. In the warmups I looked deep and unbalanced, so I went with my wider stance on the top set. Looks like I overcorrected depth.

I didn't have a spotter, so I was using the 40cm "cheater's mat" for the top sets. I genuinely can't unrack without it.

I am going to spend a week in the amazons. Besides hiking, don't have any plans to exercise except maybe some pushups and band pull-aparts. I'll be happy to rest.

Didn't do a single push-up, plank, or pull-apart. Did stick my left hand on a tree with a spiny bark like a cactus; I counted 14 pins stuck inside. Still have about 8 as I type now.

Though JnT is an awesome program, I am doing something different, mainly to keep my gym time under an hour. This one took 85mins.

Every exercise was supersetted with the one below or above.

--not too happy with this, even though it may be a rep PR, it's not a volume PR at that weight. Worse it seems my form is all out of order. Head cranking up a bit, sinking too deep, and correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like I'm holding the bar very low.
--think I had 1-2 more left in me. Honestly the main factor was core/conditioning.

In between I pinched these 25lb fat plates for as long as I could. Grip is so weak. Although unusually i was failing in my left hand first, probably due to the injury your intrepid traveler sustained in the Jungle.

Thanks, but I'm not quite happy with it. 285x1 last Tuesday felt very strong, now I feel like I am a little bit misgrooved. Also since I am going to try to use this training cycle to fix my problem with hips shooting back, I was trying to actively force my chest up out of the hole. This led to some of my notorious headcrank. Nothing major here but maybe it'll become pretty ugly once I have to grind a bit.

I feel like cardio was a limiting factor on the AMRAP today (Lolme). Maybe going from 85m back to 2600m elevation was a factor. Maybe I should do some cardio. Definitely I should quit smoking (about 5/day now).

^Some useful advice, thanks. Cueing "chest down" out of the hole seems really strange, but I don't know it might work. I pause squatted today, it would have been the perfect opportunity to try it out. Unfortunately I completely forgot.

I think for me head down/neutral is a good position, since I throw myself a bit out of balance with all my neck jerking, but as an aside--why is it that no advanced powerlifter squats with the head down? I literally can't think of one example I've seen.

For some reason my phone kept deleting all my videos. Extremely frustrating because I really wanted to check out my sumo technique.

Warmed up with some snatches to get the blood flowing. Ended up ripping a huge PR at 115lbs. I'm very proud of this. This vid didn't delete. How's my form bros?
