Can't lie, starting to miss barbell squatting. Upperbody wise, I don't think much is lost; if I had a pull-up bar, there'd really be nothing to complain about.

However I wouldn't be surprised if my OHP hasn't risen despite obvious gains with KB pressing. Unfortunately KBs have a big element of skill, great for "athleticism" but probably not optimal for max strength. That said, I'm starting to do some pressing "bodybuilder" style to balance things out.

--I think pistols are the most overrated exercise in existence. Before I trained, I could do 5-10 pistols. I distinctively remember warming up with sets of 10 pistols before I squatted 205x5x3 and thinking I was a big bad boy. Now I don't even think I could do 10 pistols but I'd bet money I'm good for 315 anytime. Nevertheless, pulling off a +24 pistol was a nice surprise.

My abs are sore as hell. I don't know why, because I haven't done any direct ab work. My guess is the z-presses.

Yes, but really I just miss squatting and rows. I think my legs have definitely gotten smaller, although my upperbody is noticeably bigger (I'm a bit fatter too).

Need to be better about logging after every session, I forget what I've done. I'm sure I worked out every day except for Friday and Saturday this week, but I don't remember.

The skill/strength continuum of kettlebells is weird. On some kettlebell forum, I read people saying they couldn't floor press their TGU weight, so they had to double hand press to start. Having a better TGU than Floor press seems almost impossible to me, but a lot of people assented.

--alright I did it! Didn't think to note the time until beginning the first set of 50, but after that it took 46ish minutes. So the whole thing probably took me about 50 mins (lol)

Main thing that killed on this is grip.

I guess the new goal is to get it done in under 40, then 30 minutes.

Waking heart rate down to 58ish. IME hr<60 is when I start to feel pretty fit.

I forgot to mention that the other day I tried to add weight to the KB press by strapping a backpack loaded with a 24kg weight to the KB's handle. Unfortunately (and in hindsight quite predictably) the bag swung out halfway through the rep and I twisted my shoulder quite violently. It still hurts and was giving me a bit of trouble today.

Wanted to do a full press/arm workout today, but my girlfriend called as soon as I started and by the time I got off my phone it was too late. So i just did one press-out set, probably pushed the RPE to a point that may effect my work out tomorrow.

4 periods of small effort today:

24x1x10 tgus (5/hand)
12:15 seconds

--20 minutes despite taking a five minute break to shred chicken. Surprisingly easy, was doing more difficuly variations at the end.

I forgot to mention that I bought a scale.

I was 80 sunday, 79 when I woke up today. The present plan is to get down to 76, then see how I look and feel.

I've also started to be able to press the KB with a band. Scale tells me it adds 3-4 kg at the bottom, and 5-6 at the top the way I'm setting it up. Started trying to GtG that, did about 10 singles today for each side. Present PR is three for the left and right hands.
