I'm actually in an area of mostly woods and lakes/ponds and not a concrete jungle. It's hard to walk anywhere in town in my area because stores are so spread out and miles apart, so deliberate walking on the trails is the only option. In Dallas, I can walk to the store or various places.
I don't think people getting picked up for walking is a thing, I dunno though.
I've got family members who were literally questioned by police just for going out for a walk in the US. On one occasion my stepfather, on a business trip, went for a walk, got stopped by a motorcycle cop, wandered back to the hotel and then, in the coffee shop, saw the motorcycle cop who'd questioned him and went hello and the guy just ignored him and sulked.
If you've got walking trails nearby, and they're attractive and interesting, that's good. And one upside of carrying a bit of weight is you burn a lot of calories just moving about. Your weight compared to mine, even after the excellent amount you've lost, is as if I were carrying an infantryman's pack, rations, spare clothes, body armour, helmet, radio, ammunition, grenades, sidearm and rifle. I could hike ten miles like that, but I'd be a bit puffed. You're going to burn a lot of calories anyway, so you just need to eat things that are interesting, but contribute fewer calories than you're burning.
Dunno. Lamb cutlets and green beans or mange-touts and boiled new potatoes with some herbs sprinked over. Pasta ribbons (tagliatelle) with some prawns and strips of smoked salmon stirred in, and maybe broccoli florets. Even a small steak with peas and oven fries. And maybe an avocado vinaigrette for starters and fill up with an orange, an apple or grapes afterwards. Aim for a lot of fresh stuff, a lot of fruit and veg and a lot of fish, and lean meat two or three nights a week.
