H&F Whiteboard Discussion Thread H&F Whiteboard Discussion Thread

08-27-2009 , 12:25 PM
Please use this thread for discussion of H&F's Official Whiteboard (don't post in the other thread).

Events
I assume this list of stuff will grow over time. Picked stuff I am familiar with and fairly standard. For the crossfit workouts I went with girls that people seem to do fairly often. Kettlebell enthusiasts please suggest some standards (how strong you are as a percentage of kickpushcoast does not count). If we have enough swimmers, throw some distances in. Also, suggest some random ones: I like 100 burpees, vertical jump, broad jump, stuff like that - whatever people like and things at least a few people will try to do. Totally random and silly stuff is fine too. Just suggest it, and if enough people give it a go I'll put it up.
Submission
In terms of eligibility I'm going to be arbitrary and say anything you DO from today (Aug. 27) on counts. So if you pulled 600lb last week I don't care. Either post a video (great!), post it in your log (good!), or post in this thread or monthly **** thread thread (ok!). I'm not going to put up stuff from people that just roll into the forum "yo dude, benched 405 last night, print it." You obviously don't need to have a log, or be a super prolific poster, but please have some involvement in the forum if you're going to submit stuff.
Logistics
Hopefully tsearcher can get me mod powers for the Whiteboard thread, in which case I will just update the standings as often as possible. The other option (if I can't get mod powers) is for me to just repost the standings once every couple days, or have tsearcher edit the OP (which I don't like just cause it will be a huge pain in the ass for him). Either way, we'll see what happens.

Maybe add some gymnastics stuff too? muscle up/l-sit/weighted pistols/etc

Strongman stuff, if anyone does it...

And other popular CF workouts that aren't necessarily girls... i.e. nate/murph/etc or ladder workouts

So whats the deal if u want on the leaderboard film yourself doing the exercise?

It's a little confusing right now. Just to make it clear. The White Board and the H&F games are two different things. The White Board already exists and discussion regarding it can be found in this thread.

The games do not yet exist. Discussion of what they will be and how they'll be run are here.

Good points AZK. I'll work up a list tonight.

goblinhat: sorry I made that confusing. You don't need to post a video for your record to count. But, it will be more fun if people do so. It's not a matter of integrity or whatever. If you're a regular contributor and you post a record I will most likely put it up without any questions.

So we post our current 1RM records here?

Kyle,

No.

Smiley4Mod

All,

1RM squat moves to the court of public opinion for depth?

Alright I guess we just post in our own logs. Is Smiley really gonna check all this stuff? I would be too damn lazy to do it.

Start posting here more often, is the simple solution.

Meh i lurk a hell of a lot and have started doing SS as a result of this forum. I just dont really tend to post to everything i read unless i feel have something to add. Which isn't that often coz i don't really know anywhere near as much about H & F as some people on this forum do.

I can understand not wanting peeps who you dont know on some leaderboard (even though that prolly wouldn't be me anyway).

Plus too lazy to start a log.

Figured this would make things fun from the start as the leaderboards develop. Also no "well I squatted 405 last year before I hurt my knee" bidness.

i'd prefer if only videotaped lifts were allowed. not only would it allow for easy judgment of stuff like depth on squats, but it will just be way better/fun if the record tables are filled with links to videos of the actual lifts.

No kettlebell lifts?? I need some motivation to try and catch up with KPC on some of those.

This is probably a good idea really.

I'm totally going to the gym today to smash out a new 500m row record.

when i talk about the videos i just mean the quick, easy to tape stuff. i can imagine videotaping yourself doing a bunch of the crossfit workouts would be ridiculous since i've seen they can take very long. obviously stuff like a 10k run/5k row also fit in that category.

Does doing a run on a treadie count? Take a photo of the display at the end for runs/rows imo. ^_^

edit: Just occured to me... What resistance should everyone be setting on the rower?

Suggest some standards, cause I have no idea. I know there's stuff like 10mins snatch test?

Agree obv. on runnign, xfit stuff etc. (although shorter workouts video would be welcome of course).

Personally I'm ambivalent on lift videos. If you want to make them a requirement (and there doesn't seem to be any dissent to that idea right now) we'll definitely do it.

Treadmills def. do NOT count .

Rowing resistance doesn't matter. Whatever allows you to maximize your power output - google C2 drag/damper settings for info on how the machine actually works.

Subcatagories based on weight/time training imo.

Because I am a pussy.

Squat depth is the only video one I'd like since everyone is a noob.

No categories.

Maybe 10min snatch test w/ 32kg

Max reps with either double 24kg or 32kg (think they are the most common) on one or more of the following
clean and jerk
push press
snatch

OK, bitches. Judging from what I've seen in the concept2 challenge thread(s), there should be plenty of dudes around here with no problem beating it, but I'm posting it up anyway because it is the first time (although probably only the 2nd or 3rd time I've tried ) I've done consequtive sub 4min 1000s.

2000m in 7:53.3. Beat it.

Sorry for my ignorance, is this a run?

So what's 2000m, about 1 1/4 miles?
