I'm sure you mean well and all, but this is terrible advice. One of the major problems that fatties have is that they don't know what the **** "good food" is. The best example was YTF, who thought things like his "healthy" breakfast would be multiple bagels with peanut butter and that sprite has no calories (or something nearly as stupid, I'm a bit fuzzy on the details as it has been a while). There were countless other examples.
A common example I see is nuts. People think nuts are great and wholesome -- clearly a "good food". If you just snack on some cashews while bingeing Netflix, it's easy to get to 500 kcal and not even realize it.
Now I suppose you could argue that MLYLT has been at the logging enough that she probably has these things figured out, but I'm not quite sure she is there yet. And in M's case I think there are other benefits of logging as well.
I'm not saying you can't lose weight without logging. You absolutely can. I just don't think that it is a good general recommendation.
