Obviously she shouldn't eat whatever she wants.

If the choice is legitimately quitting smoking and gaining 10 pounds, or keeping going with her current status: It's obvious.

If she was you she wouldn't be in this spot to begin with. This being a fool's errand where she's not going to actually quit smoking and just gain the weight is just as defeatist an attitude ldo.

The notsofats relate to her addictive and obsessive personality, do you? You may, and you replaced it with an addiction to exercise - that just hasn't stuck in this case. I've said all along that she needs to find a different obsession but she hand-waves it away talking about work and her daughter.

Hello, dipshit. I'm the only one on this page looking out for our hero (other than loco at the end). Also coming from a genuine, heart felt place. So go **** yourself.

And LOL that I'm the POS when your toxic idiot buddy just said that anyone who was/is a smoker is "stupid".

Sooner would be better than later.

MLY, you've quit before with Chantix. Stick to that rather than the lozenges. Both worked for me in the past, but damn, the lozenges were harder to quit for me than the smoking was. Obviously the lozenges are better than smoking, but even better would be to quit it all with the Chantix or cold turkey. Good luck! It's a ***** but well worth it. Burn the lesson into your brain like I've had to numerous times: You can't just smoke one once you've quit.

vafangool,

"Waaaaaah....I'm so angry and misunderstood. Waaaah...I should be in jail. Waaaah...my mom smoked crack and daddy lock up in the dog pound."

"Waaaah...I can pass that abuse onto everyone around me. Waaaaaah...that's just the way I am bro."

Does that about cover it, shitbird?

I am using Chantix to quit.
It worked before and I was an idiot thinking I could just have one cig.
I think I gained 15lbs in a month then.
This time I will get through most of the cravings when my hormones are making me not want to eat so hopefully I gain less weight.
I appreciate different options and ideas on how to approach things in here, but I don't appreciate the dick swinging and attacking each other.

Loco,
You are right that I have a n obsessive and addictive personality and need to replace my food+cig addictions. I just don't know how. I can exercise, study, focus on projects with the house, yada yada, but then my mood changes every freaking day and I want to do something different.

sorry but richie's advice is awful.

it's basically you're gonna be a fat slob anyway so pig out for 4 days and you'll magically quit smoking.

it's just another excuse for MLYLT to use to eat horribly for 4 days. And then when she's smoking again in 2 weeks she gets to say see I tried.

It's not preordained for her to be 275 pounds. Bad choices got her this way and good choices could get her to a healthy weight. Everything else is total bullshit.

She doesn't need any excuses to eat garbage. She's already eating way too much absolute crap and that's while on a "diet".

Thurs 6/29 log:
Sucking on skittles today to keep my mouth busy and gonna grab some suckers tomorrow as well.

I found two unopened packs of cigarettes in my car. I smoked some and throwing the rest out tonight. That's what happened last time, after three months I found an old pack in the house. Doing a search tonight to get rid of any packs that may be hidden around. It already takes a lot of willpower not to go buy cigs, but it takes a hell of a lot more when you have them in your hand. Tomorrow will be day 1 of no smoking. I'm not going to allow myself to go into any convince store for the next few weeks as well.

MLY,

You know I'm your boy, so you know this is real. Let's do a Fat-Off and have other people bet on us in myriad ways. We'll give it to a charity or two. I think we both need that INCENTIVE. LFG.

That was me, not him.

Weird how you attribute that to him when he's not expressing anything of that sort while I have forever and he just expects you to suck it up and be a different person, like him and other bro.

I'm not looking for credit per se, it's just odd bc he's arguing against me.

(I guess it's as simple as he bought you dinner and you like him. You're still off if you reread. [I get him being your boy for life tho.])

Dodger,
Tapatalk mixes peoples avatars up all the time. Like you will see someone else's avatar with someone else's name. That in combination with my mix ups.....I wouldn't take it personally.

why does that matter when 500-1000 calories of complete garbage replace it every day?
H&F Advice Applepied Quote

1) Because she isn't replacing it with garbage calories. She's eating those calories anyway. She's replacing it with 0 calorie drinks.

2) Consuming liquid calories contributed significantly to gaining so much weight in the first place, and cutting out those calories was a big factor in her initial weight loss, so it was disappointing to see her drinking sugar water again after a few years off it.

3) I try to be supportive of people in their threads and not just troll all the time and insult them

Hey M,

No job ='s no insurance, right? Doesn't chantix require a prescription? That's why you should buy the lozenges I linked. Don't worry about about what Mark said about "becoming addicted to them". That's nonsense. They are a mild mental stimulant with zero side effects. Pretty similar to coffee. "Becoming addicted" to those would be a great thing for you as it would mean no longer smoking and losing a **** ton of weight.

And even if you can get chantix, lozenges are still superior as they are way cheaper and will keep you from over-eating by occupying your mouth. Each time you consume one you can't eat for an hour (the half hour it takes to dissolve and a half hour after as the box recommends).

These really helped with my biggest problem area: late night eating.

Also disagree with the "fat off" as this will encourage "dieting", which is a temporary thing by definition. And as I've mentioned, I'm also against tracking, and counting every bit of food you eat because it's impossible for most people to maintain that obsessiveness for the rest of their lives. For people like us (food obsessed fatties and former fatties) obsessing and tracking everything we eat is not the way to develop a healthy relationship with food.

Vafongool,

I appreciate you taking the time to give advice and I'm happy those things have worked for you.

For me, the first "fat off" kicked my ass into gear and was a really nice kickstart to my weightloss. My life really changed from that; I gained so much health and fitness knowledge over the years. I'm competitive and it was very motivating. The Chantix worked before. I like obsessing over my spreadsheet (weighing and counting cals) everyday. All of those things worked before.
My leaks now are mental and being able to stabilize my mind and environment.
When I started gaining weight again, I was going into a depression.
When my mind and environment are stabilized, I'll be successful with weightloss.

Meds, meditation, and exercise are what I need right now.

When I think about it, the first time I had no chance of keeping the weight off. I was full of fat logic, no real understanding of cooking and eating healthy, I was swinging like crazy and switching meds all the time, and I hated the environment I was in, and was just pretty gone mentally.
It may not be apparent, but A LOT of progress has been made.

Being out of work is tripping me up mentally right now and I'm trying to work through that.

Not sure how much progress has been made as you're still a 260 pound smoker. Enough excuses, just do what needs to be done already. Life is hard and there will always be a reason to take the easy way out.

And if that schmuck boyfriend can't quit bringing in this nonsense, childish food, dump his ****ing ass and get a vibrator.

Anyways, I'm done with this site, nearly anything would be a better use of my time. But I sincerely wish you the best and hope that you don't spend the rest of your life losing and gaining the same 75 or 100 pounds like nearly all fatties do. And ask yourself why that is. I know why that is which is why it wont happen to me.

Good luck!

Well the whole not wanting to eat while I'm on my period went right out the ****ing window having nicotine withdrawals.
The withdrawals aren't any less excruciating either. Wishful ****ing thinking.

Just one week and I will be fine.
