heres my observation

most people there would rather clone themselves and then have sex with the clone then have sex with any other human being

EWS,

I'm not gonna lie. I'm deeply in love with myself.

All,

This is why I work out in the late morning/early afternoon. The hot mommies come in and its so wonderful. I can still see their perky nipples poking through their sports bras... So +EV.

do any of you tell the guy he's taking in more calories than he'll burn during his time on the treadmill? i never mind if people chat me up about their workout but my friend gets quite offended by it. what's a nice way of telling someone a fitness 101 so the person may not be offended?
considering that the whole positive caloric balance creating obesity is a very shaky hypothesis, I wouldn't say a thing and actually read up on the metabolic processes of fat creation and mobilization

mt2r,

While I don't believe in the calories in v calories out model, I don't think chugging two gaorades will walking on a treadmill is a significant step towards lipid mobilization.

Aside: I confused your avatar with thremp's.

Oh, I most definitely agree with your point on gatorades
I just wanted to let bwana devil know the theoretical base behind his criticism isn't on the firmest ground... in other words, he is right that the gatorade is wrong, but possibly for the wrong reasons

as far as the avatar, I was doing clever white box sayings way before Thremp... I've been around longer and in more force as well (just no in health and fitness)...

as far as being confused with Thremp, other than his (IMO) overabundant love of materialistic goods and his lack of empathy for other humans, I could think of no other 2p2er that I would want to be confused with more

I have empathy for other human beings. I frequently think "Wow, you're way to hot to have a job. Sucks."

And having cool stuff rocks. I just got some sweet new pants: two grey with real subtle windownpaning and a khaki herringbone pair. V hot.

I can't go to the gym between 4-7, because it's just too painful to have to constantly swerve around people who fail to realize the gym is ****ing packed and fight for implements/share implements.
I mean just go in the early AM. I'm usually done by 8-9am at the gym and if I want I can go back at 4-7pm and just 30min cardio or whatever and not even have to touch a weight.

I've heard you say the first statement IRL... one of your rare 'softie' moments

the second statement is pretty much a foreign language to me....reminds me of the few times I watched Queer Eye with an old gf

I can't get anything done in this situation. Better for me to work out at 10 PM when no one is there.

not sure what else would be preventing you from squatting parallel unless you have a deformity of some kind.

Yeah I work out at our university's gym, it's actually pretty good for the most part. However, like stated in this thread, I am out of the gym by 9am, while most people are in classes/just going to classes. I would not dare go from 5-8 pm. There is only one guy I've seen that has like weights loaded on 4 different machines and squat rack. I don't use the machines, but I've heard people unload the weight only to have him come complaining that he was still using it.

What actually tilts me the most, what other people have also mentioned in this thread, is squatting incorrectly. I see people load up on weight, and drop/bend their knee's like they're about to give a blow job. Also not going below parallel is a common occurence too in the gym, it just doesn't tilt me as much as the bending of the knees, but is definitely bad. I always cringe when I see people do deadlifts in correctly. I'm talking about full bent over at the waist lifting 1.5x their body weight.

I don't know if this would really work for everyone. With a ton of stretching and practice lifting over an extended period of time maybe, but for people doing it their first time it is a very awkward motion and they just don't have near the necessary flexibility for parallel. At any weight.

the best stretches for squats are squatting and sitting in the bottom of a bodyweight squat.

QFT of every single 24hr fitness here in Vegas. Absolutely no clue why this is.

i am super inflexible in my hamstrings and I don't stretch enough. I understand that I need to, but good stretchingt is just one of the things that I have been slowest to add.

The beauty part of doing it is that you can do it while doing most other things you would normally do around the house during leisure time -- eating, reading, watching t.v.

I used to not stretch as well but is just a part of my workout when I go to the gym now; you have to make sure you include it as a part of your routine and you'll get that flexibility relatively shortly.

similar to people who wear a weight belt the entire time they're at the gym; there must be some secret to this belt that we are unaware of.
