Still a bit worried I'll crush a toe when sumo DLing since my feet are so close to the plates.

There are plenty of good intermediate programs you could try. I like 5 3 1, but thats not to say its better or worse than other stuff I havent tried. Lots of other people here have valid opinions on 5x5 & other programs.

I'd need lots more info to make any programming recommendations anyways, but I'm not going to write programs for free here - its way too much work.

Maybe a bit, but with the style I'm using having the feet out is beneficial. But yeah, prob a good idea not to have the toes like 1 inch from the plates. Some day a heavy rep will lead to bad balance and toes being crushed. Well, maybe not since I DL like a 10-year old girl :|

How can you say you like 5/3/1 when all you do is tell me to change up the 5/3/1 program I'm doing?!

I do realize I'm starting with a "vanilla"-ish version...but still, what you do is a pretty advanced and potentially FPSy version of 5/3/1 imo. But I can tell when looking at your logs in many ways it most resembles that program vs. others.

yeah, I do advanced/FPSy/made-up stuff that takes ideas from 5 3 1 and lots of other stuff.

I make suggestions & give my opinions to you - do what you want with them.

Today I approached a guy and told him that he needed to work on keeping his lower back tight in the bottom of his skwats and he was really appreciative of the unsolicited advice from a puney guy like me. So .... that's gotta be an outlier.

I was resting before my final set of 330x5 squat when a chick came up to me to complement my lower back tightness at the bottom. We got to talking and I got her number! Turns out she's been doing SS for 2 months while finishing her molecular physics post-doc at columbia, and we're gonna go see Avengers in 3D this weekend.

Spoiler:
Then I woke up
