I wouldn't give a crap about how people drove if they didn't get in my way. It's when they affect me I get pissed.

Not related to gym, but saw this guy driving down the highway in front of me in moderate traffic (moving fast, but 3 lanes pretty solidly packed with cars) keeps ducking his head like he is picking something up off the floor of the passenger seat. He does this no fewer than 10 times. Amazingly, he was able to keep up with traffic (in the fast lane), never even come close to leaving his lane, or endanger anyone. After all the morons who go 5mph under the speed limit in the left lane I'm used to, this guy ought to get a medal for driving in a completely dangerous method, but actually doing it better than 99% of the women I get stuck behind on cell phones.

Wednesday night there was someone there I haven't seen before and he seemed to know some things from what I overheard. Heard him say he tries to get >1g protein per lb bodyweight and to do compound movements to his training partner. Then he went on to do what the dude he was there with does. "7 exercises for each muscle. 3 sets each for 15 reps" isolation movements obv

oh man that's just scary... Did he actually use the word chesticles? did you tell him yes just for kicks?

Some guy in the gym took the metal stand(that short people like me use to reach the pull-up bar) and pulled it in front of the power rack. Turned to his buddy and said "Just gonna do some light deadlifts, work on form ya know?"

He loads the bar with two 10s, stands up on the platform and starts deadlifting, but he never goes below the platform so I don't know what purpose it served even having it there. I was totally puzzled. Maybe someone could help me out with that one.

He got done and told his friend "Gonna go to some ball squats." Which I can only assume are squats while standing on a ball, but I didn't see this exercise.

Couple summers ago in the small HS weight room where I lift a kid who going to play football at a d3 school was doing these. He stood on the end of a bench and weights never went below the bench he would drop the weights from bench height making a ****load of noise. I think he had 10s on each side too, so it wasn't like he couldn't get off the bench with that much weight. We was doing them a lot like SL-deadlifts. I remember him saying they were for his hamstrings.

Romanian DLs imo. No idea why that guy was on the platform though.

Probably to increase potential energy

Increased distance from center of earth decreases gravitational pull on the bar. Dude was a trying to show off obv.

yeah, probably similar thinking to the tard I saw putting the plates way off to the edge of the bar.

Saw someone doing some medicine ball squats on one of the half bosu ball things. The funny part was that he was leaning forward so much that about halfway down, the edge of the flat side would touch the ground and the bottom half of the squat was done on a relatively stable base. I don't think he knew this was happening.

Does anyone else suffer brain fog for a few hours after going to the gym? I seem to be very tired whenever I get home, too tired to do anything requiring brain power. Or maybe not very motivated. Not sure if this is normal.

After the initial 20-30 minutes of muscle exhaustion, i actually feel much more energized after working out.

I use to proph. Then I quit drinking soda and don't drink anything with caffenine. Just sick the difference is. No longer feel tired at any point in the day or ever feel need to take a nap. I use to never dream, now I do and go into REM sleep insta I turn off the TV.

Finally started going to the gym here in Uppsala, Sweden. Sucked because all the barbells were taken all the time. But I saw two guys doing very deep front squats. When they were done they did the OHP, one of them did >120lb for several reps. They looked athletic, not hyooge. After them some young looking kid with running shoes did squats. Surprisingly, he also went well below parallel and his technique looked good. Never seen anything like it.

Seriously...this exact same thing happened to me. Since I've cut waaaay back on caffeine my overall energy levels don't fluctuate nearly as much and I feel much better throughout the day. Helps a lot to actually get some real sleep for once I guess.

****ing Swedes. Military gyms are generally the worst places on the planet for ******ation, in part because the military endorses ******ed ****. This week, however, I saw a kid, maybe 140, DL'ing 315 for reps with good form. Pretty defeating to see a person weighing nearly 100 lbs less than you doing your exact routine.

So are any gyms going to be open on Monday (Labor day holiday)? I really hate getting my schedule all fked up.

Edit: looked up Gold's seems like they are open.

Got one 2 minutes from my crib....it is closed. I find it to be worth at least a couple ounces of feces

Mine is closed too. It's an independent, not a chain, which I think makes being closed more likely.
