Some gym regular was doing upright rows today. High elbows, ugh. Standard, but I had the itch to show him the scar from my shoulder surgery as a deterrent. I decided not to say anything.

Every time I go to this gym I see people doing stupid **** thats going to **** their shoulders up. I've resisted the urge to say something to this point.

Transformers 2 has 2 transformers whose only purpose is to provide comic relief. They're clearly black stereotypes who say such gems as "We don't read so good"

on monday I'm at the gym with my slf sharing one squat rack. Guy I've seen a lot but can't remember him doing anything particularly smart or stupid walks up to us and says "You guys doing a program?". I say "We're doing starting strength?" mildly anticipatory and.. we just kinda stare at each other for a few seconds and he says "cool" and walks away.

ok?

Eh. They could be interpreted as hillbillies.

Not everyone who is illiterate is black.

One of them had a gold tooth, they were both built like gorillas, and they were clearly speaking jive, not hillbilly (i.e. "bust a cap in his ass").

If it wasn't for slow-motion or his awesome haircut, using a cheap stereotype for a cheaper laugh would be the Michael Bay signature. The wacky reaction from a random black/hispanic/whatever guy is in all of his flicks.

And I'm not some oversensitive liberal-type. This offends me as a fan of comedy.

Some trollz are just platforms for greatness. I'd like to take credit for the foundation of this lolz.

Transformers are from the past and everyone knows why there weren't any black people on The Flintstones.

So I was DL'ing the other day; left shin split open and bled all over the bar on my last set. The next guy in line came up and I said, "Sorry for the blood on the bar, give me a sec and I'll clean it up." He retorts with, "Oh, that's cool it happens all the time." He then proceeded to snatch 135 in our gym where that isn't allowed. Pretty great move, obv.O

cut out 2 panels from a 2-liter bottle and slip them into your socks, no more bloody shins

In my gym there is one olympic platform. Most of the people who use it, use it for some sort of power clean variation. Today there was a skinny asian guy doing olympic snatches and cleans with good form and a good amount of weight, although he did not start as low in the snatch or go as low to catch the weight on the first part of the clean as olympic weightlifters do. First time I ever saw anyone do these exercises in person. Was pretty cool.

Also, I was deadlifting today and I took off the top layer of skin on my left shin. At least I know I don't need to worry about the bar being too far away from my body. Maybe I gotta try to plastic bottle shield suggestion.

There was this older woman getting PT training in the free weights room of the gym yesterday. I actually saw her do squats and deadlifts and after she'd finished i thought i'd give a few friendly remarks because it must be fairly intimidating for zeh females.

You'd better come back not enough woman train free weights (true, in 3 months she might only be the 2nd woman i've seen there) and said your PT picked pretty good exercises. I then chatted to her for a good few minutes while i was doing my power cleans. Apparently (i assume the PT told her) that previously some chick had went into this section of the gym before and some broski had said to her "you might be more comfortable upstairs". Upstairs being full of treadmills and cardiotardation. Pretty out of line that.

If someone said that to me I might end up killing them.

Nope, I couldn't even tell you what state Rochester is in. Sounds like somewhere on the East coast. I live in California.

Was training a client couple days ago. Another trainer was in the gym and had his young female client doing the isometric curls I described earlier in the thread (no weight on the bar while he pushed down against her effort). A few minutes later the bar was gone and the woman was just doing curls by clenching her biceps against her triceps. Trainer shouting "FEEL THE CONTRACTION IN YOUR ARMS. CONCENTRATE ON THE MUSCLE"

Can't you go up and tell him to stop being a clueless douchebag? How do people that stupid get clients? I assume they don't have any long term ones.

I'm trying to develop a marketing strategy that is 100% poaching other trainers' clients. Suggestions welcome.
