Yesterday at the gym (Sunday afternoon, no gym staff present) it was just me and one other guy in the gym, and he was drunk. And not just a little buzzed but falling over himself don't come near me because I don't want you to throw up on me drunk. Obviously he was doing all manner of stupid **** like loading up a couple hundred kgs on the leg press and then going off to do curls and not doing any leg presses, but the best one was when he started doing bench presses. He started with just the bar and he was swaying all over the place, banging into the uprights etc. Then he loaded a 45 on each side and I thought there is no way this ends well*. In his defense his form wasn't actually that bad and he didn't just drop the weight on his throat seriously injuring himself, however he was doing them so lopsided that after three or four reps one of the plates fell off followed by the other plate falling off and the guy just dropping the bar half on the ground half on the bench with a startled expression on his face then walking away and leaving the gym.

* Editorial note: Of course I did nothing to stop him or anything because wtf do I care if this guy kills himself benching drunk right?

Lol that thought entered my mind then exited it with the speed of light. [Start old man rant] High natural levels of test are wasted on the youth [end old man rant]

further confirms that old people are nuts

I was doing my pendlays and this old dude that was next to me on the HS chest press comes up to me and starts talkin to me

he randomly just starts talking about this guy in the gym, who is pretty big btw, probably on roids. He said he was spotting him on the seated shoulder press and the old dude said on the last rep the guy really couldn't get the weight up and the old man tried pulling and pulling and he could do nothing to get the weight back on the pegs, it was just too heavy and he knew there was no chance.

so what did he do? lol well the old man started swaying the bar back and forth so the weights fall off the bar so he can rack it... keep in mind it was a lot of weight, I'm pretty sure it was about 225. lol the man on the machine apparently screamed, ARE YO TRYING TO KILL ME?

ahahaha I sort of laughed because this old man is basically telling me he did something pretty loltastic and ******ed. I didn't witness it for myself though

I guess it worked though.

We had a new trainer lose the glue on a new potential boxer (female) and start ripping on her big time. She's kinda lazy and whines a lot, but still, he went way overboard. Thing is, his G/F teaches yoga at our gym and I guess they are having a rough time or broke up or something so he's kinda edgy right. Part of the reason it happened I spose. So we had to give him a few weeks off to take in some air. And now he's back, which is kinda good for us as we need the extra bodies helping, but now his G/F is not. Which kinda sux...cuz she could bend in the most amazing of ways and was absolutely BONERRIFIC. So this makes me a little sad.

reminds me of spotting that psycho i wrote abotu doing 120 db seated OHP.... when i had to press off and it still wasn't stable all i thought was. "I'M OUTTA HERE" and just let the guy get hammered by the falling dumbbells as i stepped waayyy out of range of possible falling destruction lolll

bro i'm 175, i'm not gonna be able to basically save curl 120 in each hand to bail you out hahahha

seems like the clear play is to ask your buddy for her number, as she's newly single

Yeah on holiday I learned that even in big commercial type shops prices are just a recommendation. You can literally barter the price of coffee.

Holy ****. I don't know what was more dangerous. him trying to pull the bar back risking the bar landing on his head, or the hilarious sideways shaking to get the weights off.

Why did he need spotted on OHP anyway? I mean if you fail just drop it onto your shoulders. Also choosing an old guy to spot you is always asking for fail.

It was a seated OHP, you think people actually do standing OHP? it's too hard...

choosing the old guy is definitely a fail, he looked pretty frail

TODAY:

Some kid had full-body underarmor spandex and wrist straps for.....185lbs alternated grip deadlifts. OH YEAHH.

people pick up 10lb dumbbells with straps, so 185lb deadlifts would seem like a powerlifting meet

Haha yeah i believe you. I guess my school is somewhat not ******ed with lifting since I haven't ever seen much of bro curl spots etc until I visited my brother at UF this past week.

Side note brag: squatted 3 plates today.

Some kid was doing upside down grip incline and decline barbell presses tonight. I dont get it.

Some other kid was laying down in the rack on his back, holding a barbell loaded with weights out with his elbows locked, lifting his legs off the ground and swinging them back and forth side to side. WTF!?

The barbell I was trying to use for squats & deadlifts kept disappearing from the rack and reappearing in the corner against the wall with weights on one side of it.

2nd exercise are called floor wipers, one of the workouts in the '300 workout' or whatever it's called.

3rd exercise is probably T-rows.

But the 1st one reminds me of the people that do dumbell bench and they twist their hands all up during the concentric, then twist them back past normal on the way down, it's disgustingly ******ed.

Saw some nice broski bench pressing today. Nothing exciting, but I don't typically work out at a globogym, so it was pretty funny. Got a lot of shocked looks when I did 5x5 squats for 315 lbs.

floor wipers? get a mop imo

Yeah I know about the t-rows. It was just annoying to have to dump those weights and reclaim the barbell to its rightful place

Those twisting dumbell things might make sense for someone with a shoulder issue, but reverse grip presses with a barbell? I still dont get it.
