I've probably put in 50 workouts at the MIT gym in the last year. There is nobody there that moves any appreciable amount of weight. They all seem happy to learn to hang snatch 110 and then just repeat 3 days a week.

There's a decent number of SS graduates though. I was there last night and this short relatively well built asian kid was squatting 335 to parallel. I've seen him press 165x5 too and I highly doubt he weighs over 180

I may be capable of it when I'm incredibly beligerent drunk... That's about it. Jeez no need to shoot me down so hard

I'm not really sure I understand what's bad about the guy beyond the smith machine?

bandana - keeps sweat out of eyes
wife beater- shirts with arms are a pain when lifting imo
grunting- poor form is caused by a lack of yelling etc.
yelling "bitch"- ehh, I mean I wouldn't in a gym, but yelling stuff when you're done seems fine

Lol duds just shut up.

The bandana and yelling were for badass effect. Bench press doesn't make skinny people sweat as easily as it does to fatties. Lack of grunting = poor form?

Either ur leveling or just way to antsy to troll me. Pick ur spots better IMO

There is a guy who goes down to the gym that I go. He's probably about 6'4 230lbs. He's not large, just a big/tall guy. He lifts heavy weights, but he still looks like he isn't getting anywhere.

Anyways, he brings a gym bag with him that is filled with protein and creatine containers, and gatorade. Every now and then he will take a break and mix up a creatine drink. Is that standard during your workout? Does it really even do anything? I usually just drink water every now and then when I need a breather, and do my supplements before or after my workout at home.

I dunno. People are going ape **** about peri-workout nutrition lately, but I doubt dumping creatine in has any effect in real time

There are a handful of people at the MIT gym that know what they're doing. I'm not one of them. From now on, I am going to be on the lookout for bruiser!!!

I ****ING HATE OLD PEOPLE.

God, wtf are some people doing. You shouldn't be at the gym if you can do the ****ing exercise at home. Just buy a bosu ball and be done with it. Today was tilt city. 106-year-old **** stands behind my power rack trying to kick his foot up to his outstretched hand for 5 minutes. Some idiot beer-gutted lame-o puts some blue foam pad right next to the peg where all the 45s are racked and starts jumping up in the air against the wall. ******ed woman stands in the corner with an exercise ball between her back and the wall and does 1/32th squats. Don't these people ****ing realize that they've been doing the same **** for 4 years and they still look like Peter Griffin? STOP ****ING EATING and don't come back to the gym.

Yeah when I realized it made more sense to go to MIT than Tufts last night I was kinda excited at the prospect of seeing a legend.

You know, when you have a gym built out in your garage, you end up missing these types of people. Maybe I'll go to LA Fitness tonight to row and swim and maybe catch some of these people.

Staying active at all is such a good thing for old people that it's hard to fault them doing anything in a gym.

I fault them for parking in handicapped spaces when going to the gym or perhaps going to the mall so they can ........ spend the next ninety minutes walking.

i think i know who you mean, is he almost bordering on chubby, but well built and strong. i was there yesterday at hm, 6-7 pm. please introduce yourself if you see me. i will almost certainly be wearing green Tahuichi shorts with a long sleeve black or grey EMS shirt. oh, and i'll be listening to paper trail or young jeezy on my IPOD unless i'm doing squats or deadlifts.
