Ended up skipping 9/24 due to working late and being lazy.

Lifted Saturday/Sunday, not going to log it though because they were both ****ty sessions due to consuming copious beverages Friday and Saturday nights. You could say I really sawed it up. I just did some power snatches and power c&j, no squats. So did I really even lift??

For shizzle. Rushing the first pull puts you way out of position when the barbell passes your knees.

Def. Pull was feeling very strong and I probably could've pushed it but I'm in no hurry since I need to get more consistent at this weight anyway.

Pull felt weakish today and I missed 235 out front. Content with hitting 225 (90%) pretty easily, so I just moved on to squats.

395 ez pz. 415 looked not bad either, especially since I caught a weight on the j-hook unracking. Bonus GGO: Guy doing kipping "pull-ups"

Yeah, I see the drastic differences in our cleans from the vid you posted and the one I just posted yesterday in my log. Good stuff!

BTM - I know you are a beginner and don't want to bog you down too much BUT! try some no hook no feet cleans (just in WUs) as this slows down your first pull drastically and gets you in a good position to finish the pull and pull under quick.

LOL no tape. Doubt you're even a weightlifter*.

P.S. Dollar General has really good tape surprisingly. It's Rexall brand, 2 rolls for $3. Will last you a couple weeks.

shammy: I have not heard anyone suggest no feet cleans to me before so I am wary. Also I am not Lt. Dan.

Fred: I shall acquire tape. Also, not everyone straps up the same. How do you do it for snatcheroos?

Nhnf cleans seem weird to me, specifically the no hands part. I do them sometimes during warmups for snatch, but never really used them as a main exercise.

Straps are typically used differently because there are a couple different types of straps. I just have mine on wrists, starting with strap behind the bar, go under and over once then tighten. My straps are really short while others are much longer, and I just assume you wrap them more.

no but i have short thumbs so its pretty much impossible to do so with the straps on. if i could i probably would though.

Well I have normal thumbs and when I have strapped up before for snatches the fabric has made the grip too thick for comfort of hooking. I just need to try a different way of using the straps I think. Or man up since I'm snatching like 5 kilos

425 felt nice and I was highly caffeinated, so I went for it. On the positive, I didn't get buried in the hole and I actually got a bit of a bounce. Then I hit a sticking point and couldn't get through it.

Didn't really time my rest and just did another set when I felt refreshed. Went all out on the last set.

10/9

Was forced to wait around the house to sign for a package that showed up at 6:30pm. At that point I had no interest in even lifting.

10/10

Woke up sick and called into work. Decided to just take it easy and lift the next day if I had the chance.

10/11

Was going to lift in the morning but the gym was packed with the one class that happens on Saturday. I couldn't wait around the gym and had to get a bunch of errands completed so I could brew beer later. All errands were complete and brewed beer from 4-10:30pm. Can't wait to try it.

10/12

In a big string of laziness.... Gotta lift tomorrow.

Freddy, want to start doing the same wods and compete against each other? I think it'd be kinda awesome if a lot of us did the same stuff and had like a wod of the week to do for time since we do a lot of the same kinda stuff. I know you, me, and POW all do wods with rowing and KBs. I'm sure many others do as well. I'd also like to be pushed into doing other kinds of wods...maybe involving thrusters or other things like that.

We could have a thredd devoted to weekly wods perhaps.
