This + bar was resting on my throat instead of collar bone, causing me to almost pass out. I was going for the 395 so my attempts were made with that goal in mind and I didn't have much left for heavy front squats.

Ya, maybe one day all this extra mobility work I've been doing will kick in and I'll be able to front squat or clean or hit the bottom position of the snatch without twisting my feet out or going on my toes and holing the position with some stability. :\

shamrock was using this as well, but I believe he dropped it after missing a week or two of training. I put a friend on it and he seems to like it, but he's only 2 weeks in.

ETA: just looked at this and it's slightly different than the program I did. This has a slightly heavier deload squats and the addition of heavy walkouts on those deload Fridays.

Didn't get video of first try at 225s. Video of the rest posted below C&J.

First 205 looks quick, noticing my right foot angles out a lot more than my left in the hole, also quite a bit of ankle cave on that side. Second 205 attempt looks smooth but I'm kind of slow getting under the bar after hip extension. Third 205 I sat in the hole for awhile setting up and my hamstrings were kind of spent, my back is rounded most on this attempt imo. 215 #1, felt fast, looks fast. 215 #2, only rep I truly felt good about (still a little ankle cave on the right foot though). 225 #1, didn't get the barbell far enough back over my center of gravity, this caused balance to be a little forward and massive ankle cave which lead to the miss. 225 #2, landed a little uneven with feet which twisted me a little bit, and the barbell went too far back on the right hand side. I try to adjust by pulling it back and instantly lose balance backwards and shoot out.


Clean and Jerk

265 #1, don't complete the 2nd pull so I hit a little lower than I want, luckily the weight is light. 265 #2, favorite lift of the C&J recorded. Slowed down my first pull a little bit. My hips and shoulders rise OK together, and I finish the 2nd pull by getting into the proper power position with knees slightly bent, shoulders behind the bar, vertical torso, and barbell in the launch point. 275 #1, pretty similar to 265 #2. 275 #2, hips rise much quicker than shoulders, but I still make it. I remember the jerk feeling ****ty and you can kinda see my right arm fully extend after the weight is overhead. 285, lel, just lel. I was tired I think. Regardless, I gave up after that.

Wrapping up this session, I really need to focus when I get to the bar and in the gym period. I noticed a lot of talking and bull****ting. Also, right side hip/ankle mobility is really where I need to focus to get it even with left. Then I need to focus on improving both.

Found another snatch with some arm bending, although this guy seems to have a wide grip as possible. Pretty interesting jerk grip as well.

I just tested split jerks yesterday for the first time in my class. I've never done them before so they were horrid but it was cool to see you crush these, lol. 335 looool. that was insane. Your hand positioning is interesting as well. So you don't have a full grip on the bar until it starts shooting up?

Thanks. My wrist flexibility isn't great and it just sits at the base of my fingers and I roll my hand up as the bar goes up I guess.

Did they teach you to put your whole hand around it?

440 was previous PR, was going for 455 which is ~103.5%. I probably should've either skipped the 405 or the 425 attempt. Oh wellz.

No lifts.

Probably should've noted this on the 4/4 workout, but I was in a rush to post the update that I didn't write much. On the last snatch attempt at 255 I hurt my left wrist. Rewatching the video it looks like my grip is a little bit wider on the left and it rotates around slightly slower than the right hand. I remember hearing a little pop and it hurting a ton at the time. I think some adrenaline kicked in and I was able to do complete the jerks after without any pain.

Then I went home, iced + ibuprofen and it started to tighten up a ton and any sort of flexion in my left wrist hurts. I don't think I broke anything, but it still hurts as of today so I'll be taking a little time off from anything that puts pressure on the wrist. I'm going to be squatting M-W this week until Thursday, which is when I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed. I'll then be taking a "deload week" with little to no lifting as instructed by my dentist.

Everything was tight and slow, so I kept it light. For the singles at 355 I did a 5 second tempo down to add some extra time under tension, then bounced out of the hole like normal.

Did a short stretching session post workout for hamstrings and hip flexors. Hopefully that will make me a bit more limber for Tuesday workout because I want to go heavier and do some extra leg accessory work.

Are they giving you the good stuff to get your wisdom teeth out? I had mine taken out a couple of years ago. They put me in something called Twilight, awake enough to respond to commands but aware of nothing. When the drugs wore off, it was like I'd been asleep the whole time.

Probably going to toss the GHRs on the next training day because our GHR is janky as **** and it's hard to do them with my short legs. I'm able to back extensions effectively though, so I'm going to do them and introduce a barbell to the movement next session.

Welp, getting my wisdom teeth taken out at 3pm today. I'll be out of the rubber game for at least a couple days and will be high on percocet I assume. I'll try to count calories so I don't get the fats and I plan to ramp up the mobility/flexibility work to twice daily. Then I'll get back into the Bulgarian style programming sometime next week if my wrist is feeling up to the challenge.

Ehh, surgery? I didn't even get put under and only got enough Novocaine to not feel anything. It was just an extraction, not oral surgery. I was apparently a little laughy, but not loopy by any means. I remember everything fwiw.

Mint leaves? Is it weird that I planted my garden today and actually have some fresh mint leaves? I was planning on using them to make some mojitos tonight tho...
