Its pretty good. You have to make sure the freezer is super cold to cool the bowl and not overfill it to have it freeze the ice cream effectively, and it struggled a bit in the heat yesterday (about 92 in the kitchen). Handles sorbets and margaritas well too.

I have a similar model, with the same observations.

Thanks, guys.

One more question. How do yours handle mix ins? I've read a bit about how the paddles on some models are weak and can't handle mix ins well.

Pretty good, no problems so far. Biggest mix in ive done is some roughly chopped peanut butter cups though.

The only mix in for me was chocolate chips. Wasn't a problem.

Nice. I am 100% going to do the chopped up peanut butter cups. I am guessing these will be the largest/most difficult mix in to deal with.

Side note: I think the maple bacon and rum raisin mix ins could work together.

feel slightly dumb for posting this because its not really a recipe, but this is my go to meal when i want something quick and tasty. this is also extremely cheap to assemble.

what you need:
* 1 or 2 large chicken breasts
* 1 bag of green giant Steamers (rice with cheese & broc)
* hot sauce
* pinch garlic salt

1. cut chicken into thin slices before cooking.throw your thawed chick breast on the grill. put a dab of garlic salt on that ****

2. put steamers bag into microwave. push the 7min button

3. when everything is finished cooking, mix everything together in a bowl. then add hot sauce.

4. profit????????????

So this is where the food enthusiasts of H&F hang!

Lotsa good stuff so far
Might as well contribute then.
I'll follow in the foodsteps of KC and pro_FLUFFER ie post stuff that anyone over 12 years can do, with or without a recipe.

Ezpz beef & veggies casserole

1.) Gather the ingredients:

- A bag of frozen veggies; 500 g of carrots, champignons, romano beans, black salsifies, onion and garlic sprouts
- 250 g of cherry tomatoes
- 125 g of Mini-Mozzarella
- Red onion
- Garlic
- 500 g of 93% lean Ground Beef (actually that's 800 g in the pic, but 300g of it was used for another dish
- 150 g of Grated Cheese (Mozzarella and Emmentaler -mix is my favorite)

2.) Grease the casserole with some butter/oil and throw the frozen veggies in.
You can throw the mini-mozzarella in there at this point as well but I chose to add them in a bit later.
Put the casserole in the oven.
225 C is a fine temperature.

3.) While the veggies cook in the oven, prep the other ingredients.
Chop the red onion and garlic. Fry them lightly in a pan with cherry tomatoes and some butter/oil.
Brown the beef and season with some salt, pepper, paprika and oregano and/or what have you.

4.) Take the casserole out of the oven, add the mini-mozzarella and cook for another 10 mins or so.

5.) Take the casserole out of the oven once more and add the rest of the ingredients.
Mix and cover with grated cheese.

6.) Cook until the cheese on top has melted and gotten some color, maybe 20 minutes or so.
Voilà:

7.) I woulda liked mine better with a heap of cottage cheese on the side but there was none in the fridge.

Cals & Macros (per 100g ldo):

- 120 cals
- 11 g of protein
- 3 g of carbs
- 7 g of fat

That looks delicious.

My landlord and her sister grilled some sardines for lunch today. This is a summer staple for the portuguese around here. It's pretty ****ing simple.

Steps:
1. buy fresh, whole sardines
2. grill whole sardines. some people use oil and some lemon, but we just grilled them wrapped in tin foil. this is impossible to **** up.
3. eat the ****ing sardines. Serve with some corn bread, potatoes, rolls, whatever. lime. Wine.

For some reason those sardines really made me long for some fried vendaces.

Errrybody just cutting and way too few desserts itt.

Rhubarb is peaking and at its juiciest so it's more than appropriate time to make some Rhubarb-pie.

A lady neighbor of mine was kind enough to pick up some for me from their garden:

While a rhubarb-only-pie can be fine, I think it needs to be accompanied with something sweet, like strawberries or white chocolate.
Or both.

Ingredients:

Crumb topping:
- 100 g of melted butter
- 1,75 dl of brown sugar
- 3 dl of flour

Filling:
- 250 g of rhubarb
- 250 g of strawberries
- 2 tsp of vanilla sugar
- 0,75 dl of flour

- 130 g of white chocolate

Crust:
- 170 g of butter
- 3,5 dl of powdered sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2,75 dl of flour
- 0,75 tsp of baking powder
- 0,5 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp of vanilla-extract (didn't have any so replaced it w/ 2 tsp of vanilla sugar)

Too lazy to type out the whole recipe so just let the pics do the talking:

Sugared the rest of the rhubarb and placed it in my freezer.
I think I'll make some cheese cake with it at some point in the future.

gimme some good ideas for brown rice that are super lean and easy but also edible.

The other day I made seasoned chicken + broc + rice with lots of salt on the broc and it was really ****ing dry.

All I did for the brown rice was follow the uncle ben instructions. Add to cold water, boil, then simmer+cover for 20 minutes

- More veggies/fruit (snap peas, apples, onions, tomatoes, ...)
- Use a marinade for the chicken (limes, cilantro, balsamico are all good bases e.g.)
- Add a bit of fat, e.g. sour cream, olive oil, cheese etc. You need some fat on a diet too and it adds a ton of flavor.
- Cut pockets in the chicken breasts, add e.g. ham, pineapple, cheese etc.
- Use a crock pot to ensure it's moist

Alright thanks guys. I just did it again with 12 cups of water instead of 4(for 1 cup of rice) and it came out much better. Made it rain with Mrs. Dash Southwest and salt, too.

Still pretty blah. I'll give EVOO a shot.

Gonna be lost to a case of the nomzies for a few days, just made some chocolate cherry bread:

It was like ~4 cups flour, 6 oz dried cherries, 1 cup water, 2/3rds cup raspberry liqueur (called for cherry, subbed it), package of dark chocolate chips, 6 tablespoons butter, 6 tablespoons cocoa powder, 1.5 tablespoons salt, package of yeast. Mix/knead everything together, let it slow rise in the fridge overnight, rise for a few hours this morning in a couple of loaf pans, then 35-40 mins @ 400. Nom nom nom

So, I made some bread. Bread is good, in fact, I say this bread is great. However, this is H&F, and in H&F, there is one dessert we worship above all. And so I present to you, chocolate cherry bread facking pudding.

Uncooked:

Just out of the oven:

Let it rest for ten minutes, turn out of a plate:

EXTREME BREAD PUDDING CLOSEUP:

I'd had bread pudding before, but I have to say, I never really understood how loco could love it so much until now. Probably the best thing I ever made.

Used this recipe, just scaled down to one egg: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/bread-pudding-ii/
