Bracing sounds like it should be easy but plenty of us seem to struggle with it. Getting stuck at the bottom is always fun! Core looseness definitely makes things harder. And dangerous.

Left shoulder up through my neck was feeling a bit wrekt following this one. In other news, in the world of streaks, I haven't had any alcohol yet this year. I haven't really set out not to drink, the focus on sleep and diet just seems to be keeping it at bay naturally.

Sure theyre not elite numbers, but squatting almost 1.5x bodyweight for reps while running on non lifting days is a serious workload.

Add some sparring and an obstacle course and you have a pretty legitimate combat training program.

Program looks okay, super low mileage so you can go more intense. Doesnt have to follow 80/20.

You could get a ballpark of your current paces by just using that 25min 5k you ran and plugging into Jack Daniels calculator. Then upping the speeds a little bit because of the low mileage.

But I would think this programming would stall at 23:00-24:00 5k because the mileage is too low. But you never know, a guy in the Ant Division might be able to go a little faster.

I'll run this program once or twice and see what kind of gains can be made. May work towards 10k at some point down the road.

Thanks for mentioning the Jack Daniels calculator, looks like it could be helpful. New to me and I am a Jack Daniels white belt for now.

Calories have been trending up a bit and weight down slightly. Additional activity through running and swimming seems to be burning a few additional calories. Logged cals are always a bit of a guesstimate as well and this past week was a bunch of Hello Fresh meals which likely have a lot of variance compared to nutritional info I could find on a per serving basis.

Run was beginning to feel like I was going faster than I should towards the end but after an easier first km I was just trying to hold a steady pace the rest of the way. Looks like my steps per min have settled into the low 170's, up from the low 150's before I started focusing on landing closer to my forefront and shortened strides a bit.

It took a nice Sunday afternoon nap to push that sleep average over the 7-hour mark. Left arm still really sore through the elbow even with stripping down accessories quite a bit. May have to consider reducing them even more and although the swimming is pretty relaxed I don't think that is helping much.

Run felt pretty good. Tried to keep it somewhere near 5:45 per km which felt pretty easy until near the end. Not sure if I was getting tired or just bored of running but I was quite happy when it was over. This is probably true of almost every workout of my life though. Jammed some pizza, ice cream bars, a bunch of other stuff and a whole lot of vietnamese food into my face.

Seems appropriate to roll out updated dad bod noodz around Fathers Day which is near enough my birthday. Looks like that was the timing of the last update as well. To my eye in the mirror I have seen slow minor progress. To look at pics I see none. The realities are sobering and beautiful. The oldometer has hit 51 now.
