Had a bit of extra time available in the morning so took advantage with a longer walk than usual. Have been going full speed at work all year so far it seems and the bits of exercise and being disciplined about getting to bed at a good time seem to be helping to keep me somewhat sane. My time summaries are arguably BS but I have blasted 1,100 hours into the office already so far this year. The only saving grace is that I have finally found a way to get some of that work done from home so I do remember what my kids and wife look like.

Eh that's seems really unbalanced but I am Aussie so maybe it's more the norm where you are. Is this workload going to continue indefinitely or is there some respite in the distance? Take care either way, seems like a huge workload to me.

It should even out a bit over the year as things typically slow down over the summer. It is always busy for me early in the year but this has been a bit more extreme than usual. I will have a little reprieve in May with a short getaway to Vegas and Utah with my wife. That is coming up soon enough to give me a light at the end of the tunnel to look forward to.

Lower back is still giving me problems. Most effective fix I have found in the last couple years was a 3 month break from working out. That seems a bit extreme though. Trying to use lighter than baby weights and really focus on form and still having issues. I should probably learn to stretch some day.

Thanks Renton. As soon as I posted I thought about McGill, minus the actual name because all I could remember was that it was some Canadian back expert whose name is also a University. Then promptly forgot all about it. I used to do a lot of that stuff but ended up dropping it for the sake of time. It should be super easy to squeeze in somewhere though. I committed to doing Jefferson curls at some point not too long ago as well but that lasted two or three days.

A few degrees above zero and lots of rain made this walk reasonably miserable. I think I prefer -30C in the dead of winter but I could be wrong about that. Did a bit of McGill core stuff afterwards much to the dismay of my back. Had a little run in with a cheesecake and a bag of chips. Very tasty, no regrets.
