Deadlifts mainly target your posterior chain, and sure as hell is a good exercise for your hams, glutes and lower back. They strengthen your abs and obliques too, along with just about every other muscle in your body. I'll be thankful for a strong back when I'm old, biceps won't matter much then. Wrt looks, chest and arms are great but a strong back makes one durable and robust. Skipping deads is equivalent to being the guy who skips legs, just a poor decision.
