goddamn snowstorm knocked out power at my gym so it was closed and i had to go to a different crappier gym (mockingbird & greenville location sux btw spenda) with stupid rubber-coated octagonal plates and no bumper plates hyachachacha

re: kk -- htf can coffee and dr pepper keep people up for 2 days straight? does it chemically combine into meth or something?

The baseball facility finally agreed to let me put my weights in there for S&C work, provided I have insurance (which I will) and fence it off to keep it safe from 8 year olds running around. Went to Home Depot to get plans to fence it off - looks like it'll be about $200 with hardware costs.

Cannot wait to get going. Hoping to install stuff next weekend.

Chuck is the greatest. There's an awesome video of him with Louie Simmons backstage getting ready to squat and it's intensity plusplusplus. He's basically ripping off all his helpers heads. It's great.

Also a better version of those Bombay drinks if you have access to an espresso machine, X number of shots. Brown sugar, twist of lemon & coke. Burger joint in Perth used to make them, MachOnes. They are prettttttty good.

ya went there today, was about to make a post about how bad it sucked but then I saw this. Was there from 2:30-3:45. Took me 10 minutes to track down 2.5lb plates.

I've thought about it. I thought it would be better to have logs that are like 6 months/1 year old and active in a sub forum or something. Something to give people motivation to stick with it. Those are the good logs anyways.

I dunno it could be like new logs/ older logs separated.

I dunno.

Why would you want a log forum? Without the logs H&F would be so low volume it wouldn't make sense to exist.

Splitting forums should be done to solve a problem, I really don't see one here.

That's basically what it comes down to

Quick poll for the heavy guys out there, let's say 210lbs and over.

How many pushups can you do? One set to failure, decently strict.
02-14-2010 , 04:18 PM
I'm ~215.

Today I did 25. A few days ago I did 20 and that was my max. I aim to get these up in the next few weeks. It seems like it would be pretty easy to GTG on these and quickly progress.

I did a couple more sets of 20 today, pretty easy until the last 2 or 3

Edit: Last week was the 1st time I had done any in forever

i just banged out 30 at 255. i set up on closed fists and touched upper belly each rep. haven't done a pushup in over a year.

nice pump going on right now.

so if i can set up my deadlift with good lumbar extension and almost maximal thoracic flexion and maintain a rigid spine during the lift, i should be safe? serious question.

on friday i tried doing this with a light weight to see what all the rage was, and i liked it enough to want to tape myself from the side to ensure my back doesn't come undone. i felt fast off the floor. 10x1x315 was the workout so not exactly enough to really judge this, but it felt good enough that i want to mess with it some more.

I imagine you were faster off the floor, but that weight is too light to see if it would give you trouble at the top.

Looking forward to a vid and seeing what you+others say about it.

Last time I checked, 41, around 210 lbs.

that issue as described in SS is caused by lumbar rounding. that was one of my points in the other thread when people compared to KK. i think i can keep lumbar extension while having my upper back in pretty ridiculous looking flexion.

6 at 245lbs

17 pushups at 185lbs (only 5'7" so I'm somewhat heavy, short arms however which helps.) Haven't done a push up in months and hated everyone of them.
