so today when doing standing overhead presses i felt a ton of popping in my left shoulder. well, it was like in the back, underneath of my shoulder. weird. no pain. but there was a "disconcerting" amount of popping.

it was only during the down part of the lift. it was only if my elbow was in. if i lowered the bar with my elbow out it didnt pop.

the weight wasnt taxing, i had no problem getting it up.

obv my normal routine is just do something until it becomes unbearable so if anyone thinks its mebbe a problem it would be nice to hear.

this stretch from 220-200 is really tough because I've accomplished a fair bit (started at like 270lbs maximum 2 years ago) so I feel like taking a break but I know I have to get under 200 to really be near where I wanna be.. grrr. so frustrating!!

I am eating a really low calorie diet but its pretty reasonable, I am eating 3 cans of salmon for dinner tonight. That's definitely the only rough meal I have breakfast is pretty nice w/ oatmeal and brown sugar and lunch I get a nice turkey sandwhich w/ cheese on whole wheat bread toasted its actually pretty decent. + working out as much as I can. lets go go go.......... AHHHHSGGGGGGGGGGGDJHKSJDKG 216.2 at low point today! CMONNNNNN!

maybe eat more and exercise more if you are finding it tough.

I'd rather eat less than run 3 miles. Right now I am running 1 mile which is way easier on my joints and doesn't wipe me out the way 3 does. I'd love to eat more but I am going to give this a try as I am getting close to 210 and it is very exhilirating (I was a very very unhappy dude at 260+) so hopefully that will help

find an exercise you enjoy more than running. only freaks and weird dudes love running, but lots of people enjoy cycling or swimming or even walking. weights are bitching hot too.

Just tested new running shoes only a few miles, finally my feet aren't sore like they usually were (really sore) just a little but that's probably down to me slackin' off for a bit so I gotta get moving again and hopefully my muscles etc will become accustom to it. I then got home and had a beer though haha work on the diet later... I sure do like whoever said anythings fine in 'moderation' though.

dieting has nothing to do with it. you just said you were unwilling to run more than 1mile a day. wtf is that.

ok... let me explain something for the last year I ran 3 miles almost everyday. It left me with a severely impacted left heel and constant muscle fatigue because when I run 3 miles I am not jogging- I am giving nearly 90%+ everytime. So you can understand if I can avoid doing that running one high intensity mile and strict calorie restriction that is not becuz I am a pussy I am just trying to get results w/ out killing myself.

"Popping" means ligaments are releasing air through the synovial fluid, which is either not a problem at all or a very, very minor one, depending on who you ask. If there's no pain or loss of ROM, you should be fine.

Last time I asked for help with my cooking on here, I pretty much just got Thremp saying "That sux"... but I'll try again...

So I've been making nachos... this is what I do...

- Dice onion, finley chop 3 cloves garlic, 3 chillies heat a bit of oil in a pan and throw that stuff in.
- Let that stuff sit for a minute or so, chuck in 400-500g of ground beef
- mix it together
- drop in 200g crushed tomatoes
- stir and let it all simmer for a few minutes
- dump it all on top of some corn chips,
- cover it with cheese and stick it in the oven until it melts

Obv not exactly the healthiest thing to eat, but meh... just help me make it nommier... alternatively... is there something I can use other than corn chips to make it less terrible...

long shot but anyone ever work out at the mgm grand in vegas? Going there tomorrow wondering if its worth the $10 i.e. will it have a barbell.

00snitch, im not gonna comment on healthier bc thats not the point of eating nachos.

it sounds like it would taste super good the way you describe. obv you could add, black beans or refried beans, guac, sour cream etc. rather than tomatoes just buy salsa that you like. i like jalapena peppers in my.

spices. you should def add spices. crushed red pepper, a little paprika, black pepper. a little garlic salt. but the best spice with any mexican is cumin.
02-17-2009 , 06:05 AM
Victor, yeah, I kinda made a vow not to buy anymore jarred salsas and tomato paste things... obviously what I'm making isn't healthy... but I figure at least if I am using real (albeit canned) tomatoes, I'm getting some kind of nutrients in the meal.

I'll experiment with some of those spices, I think you are right, def need something more like that... paprika sounds good... I don't even know what cumin is... but I'll find out.

...and yeah... beans sound good.

also... srsly.. i don't know why I haven't been serving it with sour cream... i fkn love that ****!

guacamole guacamore guacamoleimo
02-17-2009 , 06:39 AM
yeah, that stuff too. actually, i've been looking for an excuse to buy avocados... that'll do!
02-17-2009 , 06:47 AM
yea but make sure its homemade or read the label! I bought some the other day and checked the label at home 1% avocado!!! ridiculous hand one dip and threw it out, only gonna make it for myself from now on.

Also I just watched Jamie Oliver Eat To Save Your Life wow they dissected a 25 stone man on national tv, he was so full of fat his diaphragm had moved his heart was twice the size of normal and full of fat and his lungs were squashed to a redic small state, anyone seen it before eye-opening stuff although the advice was pretty standard fruit, vege, fish meat etc
