Don't like 2x5. Nor 3x5. Mostly CNS crap. That stuff leads straight to DYELism.

Can be sold on 5x5 and 2x5, 5+.

The hardcore truth about pure strength training is that it's overrated. Look, I can gain 20 pounds of pure fat with zero exercise and a considerable amount of LBM is coming along.
With zero exercise. The Rippetoe disciples have been fooled by this phenomena. They think its all muscle.

What really is happening is that fat is an aid for certain lifts. Squat, deadlift, press etc etc get an automatic gain from just being fatter. So that's the ugly truth about pure strength training. It's mostly CNS adaptation and the fat coming along with the surplus that makes all these supposed gains. But they are fake, fake, fake.

Fakebusto and this forum have basically proven this phenomena. The forum
did it by going MAD and getting ridiculously fat n strong. But fakebusto proved that maintenance calories will give you good strength gains also. So we can infer that the calories are not the magic. The magic is getting fat is an aid to weighlifting.

Ouch. The LBM gains are fake. I mean seriously do you guys think Snitch has more muscle fibers than me?? Please. My neck and arms are as big as that guy and I weigh 40 pounds less!!! The guy is facking swimming literally in fake LBM. It's all facking water.

But don't get me wrong, still think strength training is valuable tool in the getting jacked journey. Just please give me at least a facking backoff set if we ain't going to go high volume on accessories.

Just do PHAT; you've already been surpassed by fakebusto at strength training, might as well make it an exacta and be surpassed by EV at bodybuilding work too

probably time for another hiatus, loco

Starting a program like PHAT without using creatine seems so counterproductive to me. There isn't even any prescribed progressive overload. Just a bunch of sets and reps.

I think something like 5/3/1 is a far more effective in-between. Think about the strength gains you would make over 1 or 2 years focusing on the main lifts by sticking to the program. And still plenty of room to go all loco on high volume bodybuilding stuff. Maybe check this template.

(re-)Read the 5/3/1 book and realize where it will bring you long term.

You'd be hard pressed to find a bigger waste of time exercise than leg extensions.

Pure strength overrated.

Every poster with a 4 plate squat has respectable leg development.

Every poster with a bug bench has solid upper body development.

Every big deadlifter has a thick back.

You know what's overrated? Freaking out every time your bodyweight increases 3 lbs and jumping right back to cut cut cut cardio bunny mode. Have fun with that, sisyphus.

Yikes!! Can't say I totally disagree though. They have to be gaining some LBM, but its in place the bitches won't notice anyways.

Yes, Snitch has more LBM than you. Sry bro.

531 is an option. A hiatus is also am option. Aidan will be really happy cuz he and dt can nuthug about whiskey, cardigans and fancylad shoes. Lol fancylad shoes?!! They are for facking walking bro. They go on your feet. Not to mention that less shoe is probably better for you.

Sigh. Just hard times for me guys. Just an eternal spin out of control. I still can't get over the skinny DYEl legs MaxChuning dude at 160pounds deadlifting 560. Just wakeup in horror every morning. This whole time the LBM gains that come along with gaining weight were fake.

Depression setting in.

Time to get on that 'tine dude, seriously; it's either that or be a neurotic mess for the rest of your life.

This is getting kind of sad, even that Nostalgia guy in the Drug Question thread has more emotional stability.

I dont understand why you take it all so seriously? I'd rather have you post than not post, but it seems as if you are in an unhappy place about it. Unless it is all an elaborate character, in which case, well played.

+1. TRT+legal OTC orals and you'll be like at least 70% as good as rob riches.

Loco, let's get ready for some extreme depression. Sit down and grab a drink bro:

http://bodyspace.bodybuilding.com/ExtremistPullup/

Look at how DYEL this guy is for how strong he is. Benches like 300x5 and can do a pullup with +211 lbs. Looks like he played college football a few years ago LOL. Fack bro, if this is all I have to look forward to I may as well quit and take up sudoku.

Or oly lift/powerlift and just do bare minimum aesthetics so people aren't astonished when I tell them about my hobby.

Doesn't this just happen every time loco is on a cut?

He'll be fine once he goes back to maintenance.

Going to start looking into crossfit next year. The dream is over. It was a good run. I am very healthy.

It was all because of MAXX. He did it to me. You are not supposed to look like facking Urkel if you deadlift 560.

Dead lifts do not get better by getting fatter and usually get worse for more people when they get past a certain level of fatness. That's why a lot of the super heavies have pretty bad deadlifts. Obv the are exceptions

Volume is too low. The kind of people that would grow on that program would grow on any strength progression + high rep assistance program.

Forcing growth for experienced DYELers is a challenge. Personally I think it requires improving work capacity and gradually increasing sets/reps until you're doing an insane amount of volume. So something like crossfit would probably be a good choice because the overall amount of work done in a week should increase over time.

But dabbling in TRT and orals is a much better solution.

I think the emphasis on conditioning though just inhibits the goal of volume too much. With actual resting and better exercise choices (lol oly for BB) I think one can make way way way more progress.
