TY Rexx!

Sup Yugs.

I really like this guy's videos. Skip to 10:28 for his advice on healthy steps to take care of yourself in the face of an abusive narcissist.

The guy at the front desk said, "Hey, what happened to your face? If I may ask."

I said, "Well, some dummy said the wrong thing...so I threw my face into the pavement."

The release of anxiety from this guy was palpable LOL. He and his coworkers laughed. So I reminded them that even though it wasn't a real fight, I still proved I can take a hit

Watched The Big Sick again this morning. And then watched it again tonight with C. She told me to promise she wouldn't cry, but that's not possible. It's a great movie.

Supposed to squat a second time today up to 290x3x4, but I was short on time. I stayed up late making a book trailer for one of the last books I edited and slept in. Finished benching, then needed to pick up Leeloo after school. We really cherish those five minutes with her on weekdays. And then the three of us have plans this weekend to watch Halloween and then watch the Halloween-ween-ween sequel (not to be confused with the Halloween-ween sequel).

TY Rexx! We are all looking forward to it.

Here is my latest piece of art. A fan trailer for one of the last books I worked on.

Halloween sequel last night was very satisfying. Great writing, great directing choices, great acting. There's one scene in the middle with a babysitter that is off the walls funny, and yet the humor never felt out of place juxtaposed against intense horror.

I tried watching H20 going into this and it was AWFUL. I couldn't finish it. Curious if we'll look back on this sequel in 20 years and think the same. I'm a little shocked that H20 was so bad given that it was written by Kevin Williamson, the same screenwriter behind Scream, which is still an indelible classic imo. But perhaps the secret sauce with Scream and now Halloween (2018) is the directors. Scream was directed by Wes Craven, a master of horror, and Halloween (2018) was directed by David Gordon Green, both lauded auteurs and masters of their craft.

Gdamn this was brisk LOL but everything felt great. Limited time before I needed to get back to pick up Leeloo from school.

LIFE STUFF!

Spoiler:
GUYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS my heart melted on Friday. Leeloo came home with us and she said, "Can I have a hug?" First time she's ever asked for a hug.

And then later I needed to pick up something from the store and she said, "I want to come." And we talked about deep stuff but also just had a great time shooting the **** and making jokes.

Spoiler:
And sometimes...just sometimes...she refers to me and her mom as her parents

And it turns out she LOVES horror movies, so we made plans for the three of us to watch a horror movie every Saturday. We'll rotate every time which one of us picks the movie.

I'm working really hard to build a relationship with her. My heart melts when it pays off. Her and her mom have come to hold an essential place in my life. And it seems like they might say the same about me

One must do actual lifting (wl ldo) to achieve true cobro status. Our hero prob has the heart, but lacks the requisite mobility. Can't use PL ROM tricks to get a bar over your head! There is still time FB. I believe in you.

I don't get it, at all. Filled to the absolute brim with cliches. Incredibly predictable. Meh acting. Very progressive though, yay! Solid 6/10 4/10.
