For whatever reason thought today was a deadlift day, so going a little out of order. Press is really reaching the limits, took some extra time to rest before the third set after failing a rep. Deadlift felt good, probably could have grinded out a ninth if I really wanted to.

Much better day today. Even though I didn't get any more reps in the bench, it felt way more solid. Squat was 100x better than last time, just good solid reps that for the most part felt light, as they should. Perhaps not coincidentally this came after an absolute orgy of eating over the holiday weekend, two cookouts plus I went full YTF and polished off an entire pint of Ben and Jerry's on the Monday in between because **** it, I was planning on once again, for real, totally serious going to start cutting today. So not surprising that I weighed in at 217.4 today. Probably will drop five pounds by the weekend just because of how bloated I am from eating all the food the past three days, but still fat as ****, cut, cut, cut. To try and keep some semblance of accountability going, I will be posting my daily calories in here from now on, which today came to a nice round 1700.

I respect your accountability I have trouble being honest when I'm this fat. I have all of your same issues but you're much stronger than I am. I'm currently rocking 210 maybe.

I go on vacation the first week of August, potential to go nuts there. Goal is to be 205 by then, eminently doable, then not do too much damage that week and then be sub 200 by the end of August, then do 5 pounds a month from there down to 170 or 180. Just got to stick to it. Was doing so well to start the year then blew up

Approximately 1700 calories again today. Maybe a little less, just threw together a quesadilla for dinner and the cheese/tortillas came out to 500 cals and then I rounded it up to 800 cals to compensate for the oil that the tortillas soaked up and an onion I sauteed too. Everything else for the day was very exact and measured. Came all the way down to 212.2 this morning too, so 217 was FAKE NEWS

At 1555 so far today. Have a date tonight with a girl who we got reasonably drunk before, so might end up throwing down more drinks than I should. We'll see how it goes. I think I was 211 this morning too, but don't quote me on it exactly

I guess I'll count today as sort of a cheat day. Ate virtually nothing all day, just a bowl of cereal, because I knew I was going out to dinner and would eat a bunch. Had a salad with blue cheese (was supposed to be crumbly blue and oil/vinegar, but got the wrong one), a bunch of bread, chicken fradiavalo where I ate the entire chicken breast but only about half the pasta maybe, and then gave in and had a piece of peanut butter pie when everyone else ordered desert. Had two IPAs with dinner also and then went out afterwards and had some random cocktail that I panic ordered after they were out of my first choice at one of these hipster joints that make up their own drinks and then closed out the night with another IPA to finish things off. So I'm sure I crushed 2-3k calories tonight with drinks and everything factored in, but I was sitting at less than 300 for the rest of the day, so hopefully not too bad. Weighed in at 209 and change this morning, drying out like crazy on the EC

Logged 1260 calories yesterday. Didn't really mean to eat that little, but had some stuff going on and skipped lunch and then made some shrimp and asparagus for dinner which is obviously not very calorie dense. Weighed in at 207.8 this morning

Had 1065 calories for breakfast and lunch, and then went out after kickball and had two light beers and a grilled chicken club salad. It was pretty large with bacon/cheese/ranch dressing, so maybe 1000 calories? So including the beers, I'll say somewhere in the low 2k for today

Tried and failed a fifth rep on the last set only. Think I'm going to keep going though and only reset once I go below triples since supposedly heavier weights, lower volume are better while on a cut than the opposite. Weighed in at 208 this morning

Felt ok. Squat was losing my form forward a little bit, need to work on keeping my chest up and not letting it cave. And food for the past few days: 2375, 2760, 2275, 1300 and counting. Had dinner at my parents and estimated a bunch of stuff the 2760 day, pasta and bread is a tough combo. And then the other two days includes 1450 cals worth of alcohol, so yeah, empty there. Weighed in at 207.0 this morning

You got a link or something for this. I'm about to try to get my **** together and go on a cut that I've put off for too long. Starting to consider what I should do with my lifts.

Lyle's site has it. I doubt that there's much difference between continuing on doing 3-4 reps versus resetting to where the final set is eight reps though, so I'm just doing it arbitrarily really. It's not like my other option was switching to doing 10x20 at 35% or something like that

Finished yesterday at 1900 cals, today at 1815, assuming I don't eat anything else. I made Kenji's pork chile verde in my Prime Day Instant Pot and that for dinner the last two nights, so could be a little off on the cals, who knows. I googled pork chile verde and it seemed to come in around 200-300 cals per cup, so I picked a number in the middle and then ate about two cups each night. The fatty parts of the pork I threw out, I just don't like the texture of pure fat, so hopefully it's close.

Bench was sort of expected, but disappointed in the squat. Would have liked to get 7 again, would have moderately disappointed in 6, but having to grind out a fifth rep and not even think about attempting any extra reps was very disappointing. Felt just awful, was getting forward and out on my toes, just not solid at all.

As for calories, ended up at 2324 on the 19th, 1800 on the 20th, and 1955 yesterday. Weighed in at 208.4 this morning. Definitely losing inches, could easily use the last set of holes on my belt today at the gym whereas I was struggling to use the second last set of holes a month ago

Felt much better. Reps were pretty much all solid. Only my last press rep was really a grind, first two sets of four went up smooth. Might have hitched the last deadlift a touch too, but I'm counting it.

Weighed in at 207 this morning. Had 1705 cals on the 22nd. Not too exact on the 23rd since I went to my folks for dinner, but estimating 2500. It was crab cake, mac salad, couple of croissants, veggies in some sort of sweet sauce, and a peanut butter dessert bar thing that was sort of like unfrosted cake. Looked up what I could, made some educated guesses, and settled on 2430, which was 2k for all that and then 430 for a couple of small snacks I had for breakfast and lunch that I could measure. 1900 yesterday, and 1180 today so far.

Yeah, weak as ****. Going to reset the bench. Calories for the last few days: 1770, 2130, 1350 so far today. Weighed in at 205.6 I believe this morning, 205 something anyways. Was 205 on the dot yesterday. So unless I blow up over the next week and change, should easily hit my goal of being sub 205 before I leave on vacation on the 5th where I'm going to try to keep it within reason

Press sucked. Tried and failed a fourth rep on both of the last two sets, no dice. Especially sucked since I forgot to put the fives on and was therefore 10 pounds short of what I was supposed to be doing, so it was far worse than the 4x145 I did last time I pressed. Deadlift was better, only quit after six because I forgot my chalk and my grip was failing. Almost definitely had another rep or two in the tank if I had chalk.

Had 2000 cals on the 27th, 1740 on the 28th, and then blew up over the weekend, 2750 on Saturday and then god only knows what I ate at a cookout Sunday night, then polished off half a pan of brownies that I had left over before I tossed the rest of them in the trash. Yesterday not entirely sure, had super light breakfast and lunch that totaled just over 500 cals, but then went out after kickball and had a few light beers and a chicken wrap/fries. So assuming the chicken and fries were around 1000-1500 cals and 450 calories of light beer, probably ended the day around 2000-2500, so I'll call it 2250 and split the difference. Anyways, end result is I weighed in at 202.4 Saturday morning, definitely a little dehydrated due to barely eating anything on Friday but having a half dozen beers after my Friday kickball league to weighing in at 207.4 today. So yeah, my food log has been hilarious the past few days.
