I agree with Ben. You probably missed the game but it sure is a sight to see. It's like the Bears weren't even trying.

It was the Bears-Packers game and the Bears were about to win cause the Packers had like 4th and 10 at midfield and needed to score a TD, and Aaron Rodgers was about to be sacked but he rolled out of it and then off his back foot he threw a perfect long bomb to Randall Cobb, who was inexplicably wide open, who caught it and jogged it in for a TD. Seriously, except for maybe Russell Wilson, I am not sure there is any other quarterback who has the combination of mobility, pocket presence, and arm strength to make that play, so the Packers were pretty lucky they had Rodgers there. Was a great play. I highly recommend you check it out on Youtube or something.
I wrote at length about Chris Conte here.

It's always amusing when the clown at the party, being of course the Lions fan, tries to tell himself that the others are laughing with him and not at him.

I probably shoveled another time that I didn't record.

90 mins shoveling today.

This **** was real, bros. Deep (3-4ft) drifts with sustained winds of 31mph, yet a balmy 5 degrees F. ~-20 windchill. Yet my choice was do it tonight when the storm ended (~8" total here?) or shovel tomorrow when the mother****ing ****ing ** high is -15F. Now I know how rich people who have died on Everest felt. Note though that I am only rich in spirit praise PLOKJ.

We only got ~1" of snow the other day. Sounds like we dodged a bullet here.

Yeah man. Just snow, well it's winter. No big deal. Just cold. Unusual but ok. Windy always sucks in the winter. But record cold, snow and super windy? Major wtf moment.

Anyway... I did some kb presses just to get some pushing in.

Alternating KB press
8kg x 5
12kg x 5
24kg x 5
32kg x 6
32kg x 5 x 4 (fail last rep on L side)

I confirm this is 100% accurate.

week 0 - 11/4/2013 - 291.3 lbs (start)
week 1 - 11/11/2013 - 290.2 lbs (-1.1 lb)
week 2 - 11/18/2013 - 281.4 lbs (-8.8 lbs for week, -9.9 lbs overall)
week 3 - 11/25/2013 - 279.5 lbs (-1.9 lbs for week, -11.8 lbs overall)
week 4 - 12/2/2013 - 276.8 lbs (-2.7 lbs for week, -14.5 lbs overall)
week 5 - 12/9/2013 - 274.0 lbs (-2.8 lbs for week, -17.3 lbs overall)
week 6 - 12/16/2013 - 270.5 lbs (-3.5 lbs for week, -20.8 lbs overall)
week 7 - 12/23/2013 - 270.5 lbs (-0 lbs for week, -20.8 lbs overall)
week 8 - 12/30/2013 - 271.4 lbs (+0.9 lbs for week, -19.9 lbs overall)
week 9 - 1/6/2014 - 266.4 lbs (-5.0 lbs for week, -24.9 lbs overall)

Endless snow cardio helped. Actually watching and planning food intake helped, what a shock. My short term goal is still 250 lbs by March 1 (just under 8 weeks from now, right before week 17) so I should be fine, but I will still have to be on point to hit that goal.

Man, snow on top of the coldz? That just isn't fair. It's high and dry here but yeah, cold as F.

Stay safe, brother.

You are infinitely better at dieting than I am.

And yet I am possibly a third or less of the way in. Consistency over the long term is key. I have done fine for a start and a feel good. Better, even. But I would not say I am good at dieting. The most I've ever lost previously is about 20lbs to go from 250 to 230, so I think it's too early to say I am good at dieting just because I went from >30% at 293+ (highest I saw) to whatever I am now (which reminds me I want to do omron and navy bf% soon). I also have not done one barbell lift, and I wouldn't say anyone who does zero barbell lifts and is losing weight is good at dieting.

Still, thanks. It is a good start, I am still motivated. My large belly is smaller. I will hit my goals. I do need to figure out a way to start lifting.

I am going to pretend you asked, "Why would [you] say that anyone who has done zero barbell lifts is [not] good at dieting?"

Because I know I am losing more muscle mass than if I was squatting/DLing/pressing a barbell regularly.

It is a pretty easy concept. Pick a weight, load it onto a bar, move it in the manner specified by the selected lift, and repeat to achieve the selected amount of reps.

There's a brand new CF gym that near enough to my house that I'm considering. They have a drop-in-and do-what-you-want thing available. Their hours are not convenient for me though, so I may have to become an early morning bro like you, which I don't like. But it would be better than not lifting.

Couldn't you just heat your garage and lift there?

Insulting/heating a garage is an enormous pain

I'm sure he can find supplies that fell off of a truck and use some of his hired hands to do the labor for him.

Historically (last two years) it's been a main contributor to not lifting. I am not big on making excuses, so I'd like to set it up to have somewhere to lift indoors for winter until I can get a cha compound or the like.
DT's Permanent Crossfit Log: lifting all the weight Quote

Need to get moving on that compound, the little ones will need a place to train! The Crossfit place sounds like it wouldn't work all that well for you either since you don't like getting up in the morning. If you can put up with the early mornings, I would say go for it.

I am saving. I'd like to build a house in the next 5-10 years with a deep pour basement with an isolated surface on the top of it, and maybe off to the side of the main living area, so I can drop **** without alerting the rest of the house / the USGS / etc. Unfortunately to build in the areas I like will be at least a million. Lol golden handcuffs imo.

Could always just move to Indiana, probably cheaper to build there.

No joke, Indiana was (is?) shut down because they can't plow their roads properly bc of empty space from people not living there and the high winds, and therefore Indians kept driving off the road. The National Guard was saving people. Just lol Indiana.

No idea what it's like out there for the great unwashed masses in the red part of the state, but it's pretty deserted here downtown, downtown. For the most part, we're doing fine, with no real issues other than the challenge of working from home with minicores climbing all over me. I thought about making them go shovel, but there's only one shovel and they're not great at sharing yet, so the wifeacore nixed that option.
