Alright, I did more than intense pink/blue kettlebell work without any pain for the first time in ~10 months. This is encouraging. I will get the log going in hopes that I can progress. All weights are in kg because the english system of measurement can get ****ed right in the face.

Current stats:
Height: 6'6.5"
Weight: 261
BF%: ~23% (****ty impedance thing... whatever)

Squat: 60x5x2
Press: 40x5x2
DL: 90x5x2

Cardio: Stacked a bunch of wood in a pile. Ran to the store to get some beer. I mean, I drove, but I was really excited about the beer so it got my heart rate up.
PM loco for diet advice immediately, you are out of control brah.

I'm drunk and doogie (which autocorrects to doofus btw) showed me a text saying you lifted. I wanted to log it for you, but alas, it has already been logged.

Fail.

Who measures their weight in kg? You guys are legitimately odd. You know what is no joke though? The english system of measurement. It has got to go.

I woke up to check my bbq and now I can't get back to sleep. Confirmed old man.

You can deadlift to this.

atom & his package.. snuck into a show to see him once. It was pretty sweet. Later saw him up at tufts, and I ad-libbed a song with these two 15 year old, Ed & The Refrigerators (who later became semi-famous as Harry & The Potters). Atom and another opening band, the zambonis, both came up to me later and were like good **** man that was awesome.

Some of you are slow ponies.

First:
Drank a couple of good Belgian quads yesterday. After quad quads, put this on the smoker last night to eat today.

It tasted good. 7/10 for first smoking effort.

Second:
Squat: 70x5x3 easy but I can tell my movement pattern is all ****ed
DL: 120x5x1 easyish, I'll probably add 5 a session from here
Bicep curl w/ bar: 20x10x3

Atom and His Package had a sweet T-shirt circa that same era that said "Down with the English system of measurement... stick your foot up your ****ing ass." I should have gotten one.

I like that Boris song. I used to play their Pink album at my old cf/oly club.

I have probably posted this song before, but it's good so I'll post it again.

Session 3:
I am still lifting pain free. It's weird.

I PCed 70 to the rack no problem and after loading the DL but before dropping it back to the ground I held 125 in a front rack position and I could feel where the injury is in my chest, but just a dull sensation no sharp pain. Cool story bro.

Squat 75x5x3
Press 45x5x3
Power Clean: 70x1x1
Deadlift 125x5x1

Speaking of progress, I have been doing stupid KB stuff a few times a week and I have moved on from the pink kettlebells, which actually caused me some discomfort for quite a while. Also I bodyweight stuff, like the kind of stuff girls do so their legs don't get bulky.

I am working with an ok ART chiro. He is the best ART guy I've seen and he's loosened up my shoulders A LOT, but he is also some sort of fps workout dude. I have to literally tell him every session that I'm not going to do an insanity class at his facility. I might have to kill him instead (or too), we will see. Probably not, because I am a family man.

He thinks I may have had a "more serious cartilage injury than costochondritis", whatever that means. I don't know if you call that a sprain, or what. I am in the dark.

I still can't squat more than like 60 without intense pain. It makes me sad, but drinking makes it feel better.
I must have had something like that injury a while back, but it was probably a lot less severe than what you are dealing with. I remember my chiro using that word.

Getting your strength back and staying active might help it heal all the way. It might take a long time, but when it happens you'll be glad you took it slow & easy - good luck!

Thanks man, within a few weeks I do plan on trying to progress to weights where I feel I am pushing myself and not just moving weight. As much as I would sell my soul to the devil to be right back where I was, I realize it will take time.

Post-injury session 4, eluding death and injury for one more day:.

Squat: 80x5x3 err way too easy, seemed more in the groove or whatever
Bench Press: 60x5x3 Light, but tightness in my R outer shoulder on last rep. Oh, also I have no ****ing idea what I'm doing.
Clean: 60 x (2 power + 1 full) x 5 sets. Easy. No pain. Very nice.
Front Plank: 60s x 3

...rise from ruin.

Session 5:

I made a sandbag with stuff I bought like a year ago. Cheap, heavy canvas bag, contractor bags, 100lbs of sand (I couldn't find the kg sand, too bad), duct tape.

Some lighter shouldering of bag.
5 x 100lbs x shoulder to right then shoulder to left x 1
Then 7 unbroken shoulder L, ground, shoulder right, ground
Some light jogging and light stairs with bag
~200m "sprint" with the bag. Umm, not very sprinty.

Tried to do some bicep curls after but my grip and forearms were fried from the sandbag.

Session 7:

Squat: 100x5x3 still too easy, feels more like second to last warmup or something. That's okay.
Bench: 65x5x3
Power Clean: 80x3x5 Not hard or easy, just right. 83 or 85 in 2 sessions.

Session 8

Squat 105x5x3
Band pull aparts x 10 x 3
Press 50x5x3
Deadlift 135x5x2

Session 9

I was a little bit tired today. This was at the end of a long day.

TKE (w/ medium band) 3x15
Face pulls (w/ light band) 3x20

Squat 110x5x3 (L hip very tight)
Press 53x5x3
Power Clean 83x3x5

Chinups 2, 3 with light band (2nd lightest), 2 sets of 5 with medium band (3rd lightest band I have) I don't know how to track the bands, so I'll just track them from lightest.

Light sled (up to 50kg x ~200m)

Static stretching quads and hamstrings
Spent a few minutes in the bottom of a squat

Voodoo flossing L hip. I am sure I need to figure this out better, but it seems to have helped right away. All I did was put the wrap as high as possible and then try to move the hip through a full rom.

Time to catch up on some 75+ weightlifting

Death and Life, by Klimt. I saw it at the Leopold Museum in Vienna when I was a younger DT, and it always stuck with me. I have a tattoo of the same theme (but much different looking). How cliche, I know.
