When you hold a baby there's not too much to do other than sit and watch movies, drink beer, etc. I am still getting some walks in, but not enough. Probably should turn this ship barge around)

Sauna was closed. When I stopped at the front desk they told me it opened yesterday. I turned around and walked out without saying anything. Cool. Good start to year.

Can't really overstate how much I was eating and more drinking over the holidays. Feels goodman to even mentally be back on track. It's always a period of lost focus or mental focus elsewhere (in this case, new baby+house stuff+easy mistakes). Always beginning.

walk some miles idk
sauna (always 20 min)

Congrats on the new baby!

Meditating (almost) 1000 days straight is damn impressive. How long is one meditation for you? Do you use an alarm for that or just naturally stop when you feel it was deep/long enough?

Also goddamn 290lbs is 130kg. That's... a lot.

rexx,

He's two inches taller than I am, though I'm admittedly a stretched out manlet with wrists so thin they would make loco snicker, so it's not actually as apt a comparison as it might appear on the surface.

Syn,
Like 20 mins if I have time, like 5-10 if I don't (don't give me some meditation bs about how this means I need longer jfc), and like 3 min if I just need a reset or I just want to go to bed and I didn't meditate already that day. I usually do something guided and timed, and I prefer such a thing to have a long period of silence in the middle of it. (I like Headspace, but I've tried other things and they're just as good and there's definitely a million good and free options.)

This sounds very unusual for babies, maybe get her checked out.

Ain't that the truth. Squeezing in gyme for an hour even with 4 hours of sleep and a loooong day is the only way to stay consistent with 1 babby, can't imagine with 4.

Nicely done! 4 hours not standard. Meant to thank you for the book rec on children's sleep btw, healthy sleep, healthy child. We skipped the full extinction part, but Soulgirl has the best sleep routines ever thanks in part to that book (and us having a brain? dunno). A bit tedious at times but worth the effort!

Confirmed here too - lifesaver. Although for a while with the first kid I went full WW and was some kind of unhappy sleep Nazi. Now I am just chill but know what to do.

Fun times letting a baby cry while a 3 year old wakes up and yells for you.

yugo at first I was like
"White Woman"? then I was like... true. True.

Then I got it. Pretty funny. K.

In other news.

The baby is pretty much sleeping 8+ and then another 3 hour nap after that so life is pretty k.

In more recent news

THE BABY CAUGHT A GOD DAMN COLD AND THEREFORE DID NOT SLEEP AT ALL LAST NIGHT AND I WANT TO DIE.

Also yesterday, I let a lady cut in line at Target bc she had three kids with her and I had zero. She said thanks I said no worries I have 4 kids so I know what it's like to be a white suburbs lady. She said 4 wow you must be very robust how young is the youngest. I said 12 weeks bc we are not YET into saying months (almost). She said oh wow why did you have so many. Lol weird but good question by the way lady. I said because I think you just forget how much work it is. I go home and tell my wife the story and she's just like ohhh was she hot? Jfc, womens. Good story this will be part of my memoirs no doubt. The end.
