nice bumpers, I am about to get a set and I'm debating between those and a few others.

what made you go with the eleiko over, say, the pendlay (http://www.pendlaybarbell.com/pene20olbara.html)? I know Eleiko is really high-end but I'm not sure what makes it worth the extra 50%+ in price. Or maybe it's not.

also, I'm leaning towards the b&r bar as well for slower/racked lifts.

If you're not serious about oly I would just get the hi temp large rubber bumpers. I liked using them. Otherwise these bumpers are the best, no reason to spend more. What others are you considering?

I have used several nice bars and liked the Eleiko the best, so that's what I got. I didn't like the Pendlay bushing bar, which is the main thing I have used for the past 12 months. But I didn't use their bearing bar so it may be fine, no idea.

The Eleiko bar is the industry standard and would last me 25+ years if it were being used daily. It feels great. I already had someone tell me if I didn't like it, he would buy it from me. It will have good resale value in the unlikely event I stop using it. Just a few reasons I chose it.

As I stated above, b&r York bar is probably overkill for racked lifts.

Last day of 6 week Russian Squat program.

Front squat
Program calls for 105%. Again, before the program started my 1RM was 345, but for the program I estimated 355 as I felt that was more accurate. Note doing that is not recommended.

105% would have been 370.
My attempts were
370 (PR)
380 (PR)
385F
385 (PR)
390xFx2

Very happy with 385.

I am getting more serious about oly lifting. I also want the plates to be my plates for slow lifts so I need to be able to fit more on the bar. If I get the large hi temps I'm going to run out on my dl with the basic rogue set. I'd need to pack the bar with 25k plates. So I'm definitely going to get a thinner set of bumpers.

Debating between....

http://www.werksanusa.com/products.asp?dept=11 (splurge option)
http://www.dynamic-eleiko.com/products/eictbFRS.html (another splurge option)

The first ones seem like the same thing mostly. Werksan and Eleiko are kinda tempting but seem like a waste of money for my level of commitment.

Why don't you just put something on the supports of your rack instead of buying another bar?

I guess some people like the 28mm bar for Oly lifts.

I'm not sure if there's a difference in whip as well for those of us (not me) who lift enough weight to use that.

The Rogue/Pendlay bumpers you listed are from the same Chinese (guessing Chinese) manufacturer. The only thing that might be different between the two is how they are printed/screened with logos. I chose Rogue because they returned my E-mail right away, and Pendlay did not (maybe I E-mailed the wrong person/address, not trying to say anything about Pendlay. I've ordered stuff from him/muscledriver and in fact just ordered 1kg-rule plates from him.)

My understanding is that these Chinese bumpers are effectively identical to the Eleiko bumpers, which are now also made in China. I think the Eleiko bar is the only thing they now make in Sweden. I would not be surprised at all if the Chinese are using the exact Eleiko design and shopping it to distributors around the world. Maybe it's not the exact factory, but maybe it is... it's hard to say. Chinese companies have no problem whatsoever shipping product out the back door of the same factory, copying IP, etc.

Also you should note that the Rogue bumpers are calibrated in weight (I verified that mine are spot on), whereas the Werksan and Eleiko bumpers are not. I believe that Eleiko et al. just brand out-of-tolerance plates as "training" and in-tolerance plates as "competition".

So, if you don't need IWF certified plates, go with the Rogue/Pendlay bumpers. The superiority of the Eleiko/Werksan bumpers is likely illusory.

Very nice bar speed, I'm surprised you didn't make 390, but good work all the same.

Thanks, I think I was getting fatigued which made my subsequent attempts not even close.

Thanks for the link. I'm looking ahead of time as to what to do for squats for when I fail TM and don't want to reset or when I get bored.

When you gonna max out again? Watched your vid a few times and looks like if you were fresh you could double/triple it. Also noticed 385 is 15lbs more than what 105% was. Very nice.

Yea that's why I said they seem like the same thing. I guess I will get the Rogue color ones that you have, they seem pretty good.

That's pretty much what has happened to me, lol.

I ordered a 15 lbs olympic bar, a couple pairs of shoes, a few cattleballs and a dumbell rack from them. Mostly, everything has gone well, but a couple things have not.

The dumbell rack was not the same one as in the picture, which was quite disappointing. My shoes were good, but the ones they sent to my wife took ~2-3 months to get here and then they were two sizes too small. We decided just to return the shoes for our money back, and they didnt give us any hassle, but I think we got charged a restock fee or something.
Dang man, that stinks.

I just hope that the next time around, if there IS a next time around, things go better. Honestly, it sounds like your experience was 80% bad.

I just ordered a 20 KG B&R Bar, two 20 KG Bumpers (mostly to protect my floor and carpet) and some Rogue Collars.

While I trust things should work out fine, after reading your post I hope I receive what I am expecting and what was displayed on their web site. Fingers crossed.

Two tier version of what I thought I was getting:

What I got:

I probably should have returned that too, but I wanted a new DB rack so bad I decided to keep it.

The KBs were good, as was the bar, and my shoes too.
