Getting hammered at fancy celebration dinner with new wife sounds like one of the best possible plans? Not sure what the question would be.

Fancy dinners vary wildly. Known celebration dinner with reserve pairings and known "regular" to the somm could easily mean generous pours, bonus pours/wines, free top offs, etc. Even if just restricted to the tasting menu part of evening, it's not unheard of kill significantly more than 1 bottle of wine per person. And that's before pre-dinner drinks. On other end of spectrum you could definitely get a 3oz pour every 1.5 courses or some nonsense like that.

They could have served you a shot of piss with 4oz of wine on the very last one and you would have been "this dessert wine a bit smelly and warm but still tasty."

I agree with all that. That is why its so much fun to neckbeard about. There is such a wide range of possible outcomes coupled with DT's brutal boiled chicken and air diet probably rendering him drunk by the beginning of dinner.

I'm not sure how I rejoin fancy dinner along with simultaneously running RFL. That is one of those mysteries that will remain forever unsolved.

Mihkel,

Granted, I don't know **** about RFL and it seems likely to depress me if I google it. I just give a lot of weight to years of floor Pappy and floor BCBS drinking, as well as innate giganticism, to keep DT ~sober through most adventures.

Loco,

1. I'm assuming this is the start of some logical train that's like "all drinks past drink 3, you don't know what you were drinking/couldn't enjoy it, so those are wasted calories"? Similar-ish to your "you know what else tastes great, deep fried poop!" exaggerations? I mean, I agree that in the grand scheme of things you'd prefer to drink your best stuff at the beginning and save the Colt 45 for the end of the night, fwiw. But if you don't count getting tipsy as a bad outcome, drinking a bunch isn't bad.

You can think whatever you want to think Cit.

I am on a health and fitness board and that's my main objective, I know shocker. And I repeat my opinions over and over again. Some people get "sick" of it and I get banned sometimes. So is life but the message will remain.

You can keep telling people to cheat on their diet so they can quit smoking and watch them spiral out of control. I think I should be the new orange on this particular board and you black.

loco,
You sound upset. Also, we rarely or never disagree outside of mayo (yum!) so I am guessing we are not disagreeing about whatever or whatever. k.

Cit,
Def check it out. Pro tip, you can reserve any date further out than 90 days while you're there, preempting opentable nonsense. I'm guessing but idk for sure that you could also do this if you just drop by and not dining.

Mik,
We were there about 3.50 hours. Just about perfect imo... didn't feel rushed, never felt like we were just sitting around... always had a drink.

Everyone else and also cit,
Thanks for making my log more terrible than it already was.

Its literally eating boiled chicken for days at a time. (Feel free to sub in crab/lobster/shrimp. Then the diet just makes you seem in a Three 6Mafia song.)

Its v v dark.

wrt temporary adaptz I think its much more fluid. Anecdotally spring break seemed to be much harder (to get drunk) day 6 than day. I'd like to see some research on this subject since there is a vast difference among regular and rare drinkers in terms of metabolism.

Honestly, if I don't have to drink my date's drinks 1) place serves too small pours 2) I'm out with someone way too fat. Considering my BMI ceiling is ~20 first is far more likely.

I think 3 is my sweet spot. Will not quibble over 3.5

Good news everyone! We've discovered the first topic thremp will not quibble over! A meal can last between 3 and 3.5 hours! It's official!

There are tons of things I don't quibble over. Or actively acknowledge I'm quibbling over for the intellectual exercise. IE DT alcohol consumption. All answers are acceptable.

You goto war for edap. You burn that edap to educate others. You quibble for entertainment.

Had the Cantillon Gueuze on tap. Disappointing. Granted I just rolled Fou Foune, Iris, LPF. So ya... Even top tier dishwater prob uninspired.

I was "going crazy" (aka just wanted a cookie real bad, I guess) so I refed earlier than planned rather than quit. I did not have a cookie though. Overall just a couple of bagels and some breakfast cereal. pretty reasonable.

In other this is dumb news: I'm gonna schedule an extra cheat meal too (probably Day 11/Thursday), because this is dumb.

Day 10:
April 19, 2017 at 06:18AM 243.75 lb 21.66 % scale bf

Maybe you could try eating it on your after breakfast walk? I mean, if you are on a walk and it falls to the ground so the nearby dog can eat it I can't possible think that you could be at fault in that scenario. And if muffins are the only thing the corner gas station has in stock, again, I don't see eating one in reparations to be your fault either.

This is probably going approximately as well as possible, so I am excited to **** it up tonight with an extra cheat meal. I won't go crazy, just a steak, glass of wine + ~1 beer, probably. Ribeye ldo, open to arguments as to why other steaks are better tho.
