I ate lots of cheese up until my early-mid 40s. Dairy started causing horrible problems maybe 6-7 years ago. I gave all dairy up a couple years ago. The problems I had are way better. If I even eat a tiny bit of dairy now, I have very bad problems. I'm not allergic, but I have a bad sensitivity to dairy/lactose.

idk if dairy is your problem or not, but sometimes as we age, allergies and food sensitivities get worse. I'd try to identify the type of food that is giving you problems and lay off it completely for at least a couple weeks. Then eat a serving of it. If that was what was giving you problems, it will give you a very bad problem, then you will know for sure you should not eat it again. If you dont have any issues, its not that type of food causing the problems, so you can go back to eating the first food and try the same thing with a different type of food.

What Cha said. There is also an option that you could connect with an MD that runs a food sensitivity screening (different than allergy screening)...we have a doc near us that does it and my wife wants me to do it but Im afraid I'll be told that I can't eat eggs, milk, and red meat. That would be a disaster.

man I don't know what I would do with dairy (lactose?) intolerance. I go through a liter of milk a day on average and this does not include other forms of consuming dairy.

Supplement lactase?

Dairy really is the bestest, and not just because cheese is goat and goes well with everything but also as a source of complete protein, calcium, iodine. B-12...

yeah, my ex did that food screening and it helped her avoid a lot of stuff that was doing bad things to her. Its pretty expensive to have it done, but they did find a lot of different foods that were affecting her. I can get away with eating eggs sometimes, but only if they're fully cooked. Anything with milk in it ****s me up. Those supplements that are supposed to help do nothing for me anymore.

I think I was just sick, idk. Feeling better. No more farcical dieting log, just gonna be active this summer we'll see how that goes. I'd also like to work in more gymnastics work, we'll see if I actually do anything about that. May be just a fad idea in my mind, but I can see the appeal.

Yeah but contrast with me PCing 135-140(? don't remember) at 5kg less bw 1.5 years ago. Compare with a real lifter PCing 170 or something. idk. All relative.

Although, I will say as I am generally feeling good, it's definitely not worth it (for me) beating my back to **** to get the last 10-20 kg on each lift that I'm capable of.

Thinking of working with your former coach so I can get my 125 PC+PJ up to 125 in a year or two or hard work in a great environment.

1) I've been working in my yard some in lieu of gym time over the last two weeks. I've never really done this before, always hired someone to do landscaping, but for various reasons I thought this would be a good idea. It's hard work, at least the large amounts of shoveling, digging, axe work, etc.

2) I've been walking a LOT more since it's nice here now. It's good. I've walked over 10k steps the last 8 days. I'll probably take today off of trying to hit that and play some PLO. We'll see.

oops. 10k steps/day that is.

Is anyone who posts here using the apps Calm or Headspace? Iirc Aidan, you said you were using Calm? Did you like it? Still using it? I'm finding it difficult to get back to a regular meditation practice, and I feel more disconnected lately.

Gonna throw more questions out into the ether:

What bench program/scheme should I do? Est 1rm 315, would like to aim for 335-365 this year. 2x-3x/week, ideally. I want to get going with a new program so I don't just get bored and regress.

You should ask Cha imo...

Also, you may want to review your technique.

Did you ever read the book "Wherever You Go, There You Are" ? It made me understand meditation and everything around it so much better.

If you find yourself thinking "I have been feeling disconnected lately, I need to find ways to feel more connected (more often) again", you're asking yourself the wrong question. The only time you should try to feel connected is right now, because right now is the only moment you can ever be connected.

So in stead of asking "how can I feel connected more often?", ask yourself "am I connected right now?" - and once you ask yourself that question, you already are connected and found your way back.
