Haven't been posting much but haven't missed a workout except those days in vegas.


272 this morning. Benched 245x5 last week, bumped up to 250x4 this week someone barely helped on the 5th, i'll get it next week i think. Everything else is going pretty decent. Even though I only weigh a little less, I've definitely been putting on some muscle. Gotten some comments from friends/family who didn't know I was working out much. So putting on some muscle I think. Those first month or 2 noob gains.

Able to start doing negatives now although had to skip them this week. Was icefishing this weekend, and slipped on the ice, hit my head and pulled some muscles in my neck. Leg press is going up. Also been fat biking which I think has helped. Hopefully will be feeling up to being able to squat/dl soon. Should be a big help.

Still haven't been posting much but have only missed 1-2 days on gym schedule due to a busy workload/meetings, and have always made it up.

Weight was 266 about 10 days ago, and have been eating good since then, but need batteries for scale, so a little unknown. I stalled at the same weight around 270-272 for quite awhile, but was getting comments on losing weight, wife seeing muscles I've never had, and been able to see difference in face since holiday pictures. So hopefully was putting on some muscle. Have now gotten comments from work acquaintances I don't see much so feels good.

Since December my lifts have gone:

Monday
5rm Bench: 215 -> 255 x 4 (seem to have plateaud, past 3 weeks I've been at 255x4, although I was crazy close this week)
DB Incline: 45lbs -> 55lbs
Push Ups: 22 -> 39
Tricep Pulldown: 20lbs -> 27.5lbs

Tuesday
Legs:
First 8 weeks leg press: 100lbs -> 230lbs
Last 3 weeks: Bodyweight Squats 6x8 ->Squats 45lbs 3x5

Pullups:
First 4 weeks: Pull up assist
Weeks 5->10: Negatives 2 ->8
This week: Pull ups - 3

Lat Pulldown: 80lbs -> 95lbs
Curls: EZbar + 25lbs -> EzBar + 35lbs
Back Flys: 50lbs -> 60lbs
Planks:11 ->17

Thursday
5x5 Bench: 175lbs -> 205lbs
DB OHP: 25lbs -> 40lbs
Pushups: 24 -> 39
Tricep Pulldown: 20lbs -> 27.5lbs

Friday
Legs:
First 8 weeks leg press: 100lbs -> 230lbs
Last 2 weeks: Bodyweight Squats 6x8

Seated Row: 80lbs -> 180lbs
Db Row: 20lbs -> 40lbs
Curls: EZbar + 25lbs -> EzBar + 35lbs
Back Flys: 50lbs -> 60lbs
Planks:11 ->17

Thanks . she’s not one to give it to me easy so if she says it I know it’s true! Was a week or 2 ago we were sitting down and I put my arms down to stand up and after I did she was like “holy crap sit down and do that again”. I thought maybe chairs/floor/something made noise/cracked/was broken so I sat down and stood back up kind of confused and she could see some tricep flex that hadn’t been visible in quite some time .

Felt good!

Down below 260 for first time in quite awhile. So I’ve lost ~26 lbs since around end of November. Pretty pumped. Worked from
Home Monday so didn’t go to the gym.

Bench day yesterday couldn’t get the 5th rep of 255 for the 4th week I think.

Guess I’ll bump back down next week. Wondering if weight loss will have to do with it. Priority right now is weight loss over strength so I’m not too concerned about it. Push ups were easier and I’m excited about pull-ups as getting stronger + lighter.
