81.1kg. A new low this time around. Incredibly I have had 81.3 four times during a couple of weeks.

80.4kg. A bit surprised, think my intake yesterday was above maintain, and then it often shows up as water.

This seems to suit well, reporting only new lows, not the higher ones in between!

You seem to be forgetting that research has shown that obsessively typing your weight into poker forums directly causes weight loss.

Weighed 80.0 today. Maybe tells this is not all a mirage. 81.3 yesterday. Around 80.5 may be where I am. Have had a lot of weights in that area.

79.9kg. First below 80 since end of October. Let's se if these could become a bit more frequent?

79.9 again. Really looks I have lost some weight . About 80 flat is a fair bet right now. So about one kg left to go for being confidently below.

79.5 kg. Now that's a surprise! Have weighed around 81 for a week. Yesterday tried to push it a little but wasn't far away from 2000 cal and had normal amounts of liquid. Once again this unpredictability on the short term. But hitting new lows now and then probably is as good an indicator as any.

79.8kg. So two days in a row below 80, also that lessens the possibility of a fluke.

Shh...yesterday got some chocolate from another town. What I ate during the day? My normal 600 cal VLCD shakes, and the chocolate, nothing else. I really felt full, so it's not only how much volume you eat, even if you eat less on average if you distend your intestines with low cal stuff.

Got bored with weighing myself, now stood on the scale a couple of times a bit non-standardized: around 80.5kg. So while I may have issues, looks weight isn't one of them (for now). Best case scenario is I have learned to eat.

Hi there!

Have made another complete turnover about three weeks ago. Reason: blood pressure. It got ok last time, and didn't measure it for say 1.5 years , and now it was really high. So away went the licorice. And away went the VLCD smoothies and the prepared salads because they contain too much salt, in with low salt products, and cooking everything myself. And it really worked, the pressure came down significantly! What's more, it cut the costs for food to a half or less...and this is of course for life.

The weight has stayed around 80kg, so now better watch I will not get myself into that project again.

The changes I did gave more time. Now, following the recommendations, I can watch what happens with the pressure for at least another month, before thinking about medication as an add-on. Need to watch I get ENOUGH salt too , as always you need to be careful not to overdo things.

Of the life changes, I could increase exercise. Walking is my main one nowadays. Sold the car in spring, as you don't need an own in this kind of metropolitan area. That ensures I walk at least to and from the subway...

As I don't drink or smoke, the thing left is stress. Soon a year ago I decided to retire about 2.5 years from now. Some job changes are probably coming this year, unsure which effects that could have on the blood pressure. The real game changer will of course be retirement, but will try to keep full speed until that!

Have got some good blood pressure values, not measuring twice a day like in the beginning, more like twice a week. I'm very comfortable with the low salt diet. A bit more exercise too has happened, combining it with my astronomical observing hobby, a reason to go out.

Would not have expected quite this big an effect. Could be my liquorice and salt consumption combined lifted the pressure to the skies. No return to those. Wonder what next health problem will be? May not get this easily off the hook forever...or more correctly, in the end I will not. Such is life.

Some numbers: 22 august I was absolutely chocked by the blood pressure numbers I got, don't even want to mention them. But one measurement was oddly low. I simply immediately went out and bought a fresh blood pressure monitor, of the most well reputable kind. Luckily the pressure was at least a little lower with that one.

Blood pressure varies a lot from measurement to measurement, but just calculated the mean from the first 12 readings the first two days: 162/107 (my estimate looking at the numbers was 160/105, not bad), requiring immediate action. So out went the licorice and most of the salt.

As the values trended downwards, I got lazier with the measurements, but checked them practically every day until 12 september. The four measurements after that average 140/91. Not optimal, but shouldn't lead to medication either.

My diet change is permanent though, because it's both healthier and a lot cheaper . Will not forget to measure the pressure for many months and even years anymore though...

Mainly salmiak or salty licorice, black candy. Very popular here. Was my favorite until August 22. Now it's part of my personal history
