Hey all,
Popping in to say hi and acknowledge the fact that I didn't die or anything. When I last logged, I had 1 week left of Project Momentum.
I finished the week, but wasn't having much fun and never tested my maxes again. The injuries were adding up and I felt like I was routinely pushing myself to my limits which was taking a massive toll on me physically and mentally. In addition, I seemed to be getting weaker.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend running PM. It was fun for awhile, and I actually made decent progress during the first phase. However I started breaking down in the 2nd phase and lost all of that progress. Frustration built up and I started hating going to the gym.
I took 3 weeks off from the gym after PM to clear my head. I also started focusing on my online business (a store for powerlifters) and started grinding online poker again. I actually used to be very good at online poker, but was too young and stupid to find long-term success (regularly tilted off $50k+ as a 16-24 year old).
My business is slightly below breakeven, but poker has been pretty good. If anyone is interested in some custom powerlifting tee-shirts, PM me and I'll send you a link!
In terms of lifting, I've been running Calgary Barbell's 16-week program and I'm really enjoying it! I'm not doing multiple sets of RPE9 anymore, and I've had a chance to do more volume with more varied exercises.
The program can be found here:
http://www.calgarybarbell.com/free-16week-program/ . I just finished week 6.
I might start logging again here but I don't have a timeline for that. I think logging my workouts was much more exciting when I was doing my own programming and could keep track of how I felt, etc so I could figure out how to change my programming going forwards.
